Abstract: Concentrations of straight chain material are material are increased by treating a thermal-cracked oil distillate boiling in the range of 120.degree. to 290.degree. C. and containing aliphatic olefins, at a temperature of 0.degree. to 330.degree. C. in liquid phase in the presence of an acid catalyst, said thermal-cracked oil distillate being obtained from a thermal cracking process of thermally cracking a petrolic heavy residual oil at a temperature not lower than 400.degree. C. and not exceeding 700.degree. C.; and then separating and removing from the reaction mixture heavy components boiling higher than said distillate.
Abstract: A fluid feeding apparatus and method for feeding a fluid to a point beyond the apparatus, wherein a hollow member is provided having an interior surface which defines a chamber having a first fluid therein. The interior surface tapers toward the chamber axis from an open end of the member to an interior surface boundary axially opposite the open end of the member. A second fluid is injected into the chamber generally toward the opening formed at the open end.
Abstract: An improvement is disclosed on selective vaporization for decarbonizing and demetallizing heavy petroleum stocks by short time contact with hot inert solid contact material. Flexibility is imparted to that process by suspending the contact material in steam or other carrier gas and adding the heavy petroleum stock at variable levels in the selective vaporization contactor.
