Abstract: A machine for retreading tires includes a rotatable hub that includes a moveable conical element, and an expandable rim disposed around the rotatable hub. The expandable rim includes a plurality of shoes. Each shoe of the plurality of shoes may have a base portion and a rim portion. The base portion may have a two-piece construction that allows for replacement of a worn interface that may include a channel and a ramp. A method for assembling an expandable rim for use in a tire retreading machine, and a method for servicing a machine having an expandable rim are also disclosed.

Abstract: A wrench extension device laterally offsets connection between a socket and a driving tool to facilitate rotation of the socket in tight spaces. The device includes an elongated housing and a first gear rotatably coupled to the housing proximate a first end of the housing. A socket drive is coupled to the first gear for coupling to a socket rotated by the first gear. A second gear is rotatably coupled to the housing proximate a second end of the housing. A receiver extends into the second gear for being engaged by a driving tool wherein the second gear is rotatable by the driving tool. A chain is positioned in the housing engaging the first gear and the second gear wherein rotation of the second gear rotates the first gear.

Abstract: An angle adjusting device for a wrench contains: an operating handle, a connecting head, an accommodating cavity, and a driving member. The driving member has a toothed portion arranged in the accommodating cavity. The accommodating cavity has two orifices defined on two extending arms thereof, and the toothed portion has an aperture for corresponding to the two orifices, such that a coupling post is inserted into the two orifices and the aperture. The accommodating cavity also has a notch, and the connecting head has a trough accommodating a first resilient element and a pressing member. The notch accommodates a second resilient element and a retainer, the retainer has a cutout and an indentation defined on one side of the cutout. The pressing member has a small-diameter column extending outwardly from a central position thereof and a circular retaining tab arranged on a rear end of the small-diameter column.

Abstract: A driving tool includes a driving shaft and a bar which movably extends through the driving shaft. At least one of two end sections of the bar has a hole and a recess, wherein an engaging member is engaged with the hole and protrudes out from outer surface of the bar. The recess is defined axially in the end of the at least one end section and a control rod and a resilient member are received in the recess. The control rod includes a first notch and a second notch of different depths. When the control rod is operated to overcome a force of the resilient, the engaging member is engaged with the second notch, the engaging member is retracted into the at least one end section. The bar can be separated from the driving shaft so as to change the driving shaft.

Abstract: Bonded abrasive tools, having novel porous structures that are permeable to fluid flow, comprise a relatively low volume percentage of abrasive grain and bond, and a relatively low hardness grade, but are characterized by excellent mechanical strength and grinding performance. Methods for making the abrasive tools utilizing agglomerated abrasive grain are described.

Abstract: An apparatus including an elongated rod adapted for sliding under a bottom of a locked door. The elongated rod includes a main section, a curved section, a handle end and an actuator end. The handle end, the curved section and the actuator end extend away from the main section in the same direction such that the handle end, the curve section, the main section, and the actuator end define a plane. The elongated rod is separable into a handle section, an actuator section and a center section.

Abstract: A ratchet tool includes a head and a ratchet mechanism for rotation about a first axis, a body for carrying a tool element, and a handle coupled to the head for rotation about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis, where the handle is movable axially between first and second positions. The ratchet tool is configured such that torque can be imparted to the body, to rotate a tool element carried thereby, by turning the handle about the second axis when the handle is in the first position or by moving the handle about the first axis when the handle is in the second position.
