Abstract: An image processing apparatus to communicate with a cloud service via a network includes a reading unit configured to read an image on a document, a transmission unit configured to transmit the read image to the cloud service, a request unit configured to request the cloud service to generate information for downloading the transmitted image, a reception unit configured to, based on the request, receive the information transmitted from the cloud server, and a notification unit configured to notify a user of the received information.
Abstract: A printing device is provided. The printing device includes: an attachment/detachment unit which an option is attachable to and detachable from; a communication unit notifying an external management device of installation of the option, using encrypted communication; and a management unit managing whether a function using the option is available or not, in response to a permission report that the option is available or a no-permission report that the option is unavailable, from the management device.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, sheet type list storage, an authentication section, a display controller, and a display section. The image forming section forms a data image on a sheet. The sheet type list storage stores user sheet type lists therein on a user-by-user basis. The user sheet type lists each include one or more sheet types extracted from among sheet types included in a sheet type list. The sheet types are sheet types that the image forming section is capable of coping with. An authentication section authenticates a user. The display controller generates a sheet type selection screen based on a user sheet type list corresponding to the user authenticated by the authentication section among the user sheet type lists stored in the sheet type list storage. The display section displays the sheet type selection screen generated by the display controller.
Abstract: A communication device may set an operation mode of the communication device to a first mode, the first mode being for repeatedly sending a polling signal to a specific server on the Internet so as to receive target data from the specific server. The communication device may receive a response including related information which is related to the target data from the specific server, and receive a response not including the related information from the specific server. Abstract: An image scanning device scans one or plural document images of one or plural predetermined head pages, and a preview processing unit performs preview display of the document image(s) of the head page(s). After detecting a user operation to accept the document image on the preview display, the image scanning device scans a document image of a subsequent page to the head page(s), and the image processing unit performs the image process for the document image of the subsequent page. Further, the image processing unit performs a part or whole of the image process for the document image(s) of the head page(s) before the preview display. If a part of the image process is displayed before the preview display, the image processing unit performs a remaining part of the image process after detecting a user operation to accept the document image on the preview display.

Abstract: A print processing system includes a plurality of image forming apparatuses, a terminal device, and a mobile device. A first controller of the terminal device is capable of writing information necessary for transmitting the print data, in the memory of the mobile device. A second controller of the image forming apparatus executes, upon reading out the necessary information written by the first controller from the memory of the mobile device, via the second wireless communication device, a first process necessary for transmitting the print data. A second controller of the image forming apparatus is capable of writing the necessary information in the memory of the mobile device. The first controller of the terminal device executes, upon reading out the necessary information written by the second controller from the memory of the mobile device, via the first wireless communication device, a second process necessary for transmitting the print data.

Abstract: In a system and method for automated device onboarding to a cloud based printing system, and administrator logs in to a selected one of a group of networked multifunction peripherals and registers it to a company in accordance with a device registration code. The selected multifunction peripheral registers itself with a cloud server, and discovers other candidate multifunction peripherals for registration. The selected multifunction peripheral sends the device registration code to each discovered multifunction peripheral with an instruction to perform self-registration with the cloud server. Each discovered multifunction peripheral then registers with the cloud server. A registered user may send a document processing job to the cloud server and release from any registered multifunction peripheral.
Abstract: A system and method for tracking multifunction peripheral device user satisfaction captures user images and audio during device operation. User characteristics such as gestures, posture, spoke words or facial expressions are used in conjunction with device status information to determine whether the user is satisfied with the device. If not, remedial action is initiated, such as launching a virtual assistant on the multifunction peripheral touchscreen or summoning of a human assistant.

The first multifunction peripheral receives print job data from a terminal device and stores the received print job data. The server transmits an HTML file of a screen for printing associated with printing based on the print job data to the second multifunction peripheral. The second multifunction peripheral displays, based on the HTML file of the screen for printing received from the server, the screen for printing and, when a print instruction operation is performed on the displayed screen for printing, receives the print job data stored in the first multifunction peripheral from the first multifunction peripheral and executes printing based on the received print job data.
Abstract: A method for evaluating a print quality of a printed document that is printed by a printer is provided. The printer comprises a pre-print image scanner, a post-print image scanner, and a printhead disposed between the pre-print image scanner and the post-print image scanner. The method comprises generating a pre-printing image of a print media, generating the printed document, generating a post-printing image of the printed document, generating a validation image by comparing the post-printing image with the pre-printing image, and comparing the validation image with the source image.
