  • Patent number: 11728880
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an in-coverage user equipment (UE) relaying broadcast messages to out-of-coverage UEs using one or more messaging techniques over a sidelink channel. The in-coverage UE may monitor for broadcast messages to relay the broadcast messages to out-of-coverage UEs. In some cases, the in-coverage UE may determine to relay broadcast messages to the out-of-coverage UEs based on one or more metrics. Additionally, the in-coverage UE may determine whether the broadcast message is to be included in a groupcast, broadcast, or unicast signaling. Based on the determination to relay broadcast messages, as well as whether the alert message is to be included in a groupcast, broadcast, or unicast signaling, the in-coverage UE may leverage sidelink communications to relay broadcast messages to the out-of-coverage UEs.

  • Patent number: 11722917
Abstract: A communication device, computer program product, and method mitigate interference during mobility management of antenna beam selection. A controller of the communication device determines a first direction to a first downlink from a base station downlink that is beam steered toward the communication device. The controller determines a second direction to a second downlink from the base station that is beam steered toward a second communication device. The controller determines a scan cone of two or more beam entries oriented generally in the first direction and being at least one of angularly narrowed or directed away from the second direction to avoid receiving the second downlink. The controller configures the RF frontend of the communication device with a reduced codebook based on a subset of the two or more beam entries within the scan cone for mobility management of the communication device.

  • Patent number: 11722886
Abstract: A cellular communication system uses a policy control rule function (PCRF) to allow or deny a particular user or user group access to a given access point name (APN). An allowed APN may support static IP address assignment for that user/user group. By restricting requested APNs via a test in the PCRF, frequent changes to the user's home service server (HSS)/home location registry (HLR) supporting static IP address can be avoided while ensuring that designated users will have access to an APN that supports the needed IP address pool.

  • Patent number: 11716278
Abstract: A system accesses a set of devices transferring a data element from a source device to a destination device. The system determines a transformation type implemented on the data element at each device. The system generates an array that uniquely defines the data element at each device. The array comprises the transformation type and an identifier of the device. The system generates a transformation dependency map that represents a set of transformation types implemented on the data element at different devices. The system determines a set of data transfer paths for the data element from the source device to the destination device based on the transformation dependency map. The system selects the shortest data transfer path for the data element that corresponds to the least number of hops between devices. The system communicates the data element from the source device to the destination device using the shortest data transfer path.

  • Patent number: 11705961
Abstract: A method for achieving wireless communication between a transmitter and a receiver via a repeater device. The value of a first physical property of a message received from the transmitter is measured by the repeater device. The value of a second physical property to be used for the retransmission of the message is determined by the repeater device depending on the value of the first physical property measured for the received message. The message is retransmitted to the receiver by the repeater device using the determined value of the second physical property.

  • Patent number: 11705979
Abstract: Aspects are described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a serving cell and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to determine a reference signal sequence that comprises a primary synchronization signal (PSS) sequence and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) sequence of a target cell. The processor is further configured to receive a signal sequence from the target cell and calculate an overall correlation value based on the reference signal sequence and the received signal sequence. The processor is further configured to determine that the overall correlation value is above a threshold and detect a synchronization signal block (SSB) of the target cell based on the received signal sequence. Finally, the processor is configured to establish a wireless connection with the target cell based on the SSB.

  • Patent number: 11700556
Abstract: A multi-tenant computing system provides services to a number of different tenant organizations. To address the problem of failure of portions of the system, the hardware infrastructure of the system is located at a number of different geographical locations. The various tenants are assigned to one of a set of “cells,” each cell corresponding to one of the geographical locations. Additionally, each cell has another one of the cells assigned to it as a backup cell, and the data of each cell is replicated within its assigned backup cell. At system run time, if a failure is detected within one of the cells, the network redirection is used within the multi-tenant system to reflect that the backup cell for the failing cell is now handling requests for the failing cell. Upon determination that the failing cell has been repaired and is now again correctly functioning, the network redirection is no longer employed, such that the (formerly) failing cell again handles its own requests.

  • Patent number: 11646785
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a first communication device and a second communication device. The first communication device obtains a plurality of radio frequency (RF) signals corresponding to different communication protocols from a plurality of communication systems. A frequency of each of the plurality of RF signals is upconverted to a different frequency, and a phase noise is introduced in the plurality of RF signals. The plurality of RF signals corresponding to different communication protocols are multiplexed into a mmWave RF signal of a specified frequency and a defined pilot tone along with the mmWave RF signal is transmitted. The second communication device captures the mmWave RF signal having the defined pilot tone over-the-air. At least one RF signal is down converted to a source frequency and the phase noise is estimated in the one extracted RF signal based on the defined pilot tone which is reduced concurrently.
