    Abstract: Alkenyl-substituted benzene derivatives are produced by oxidatively coupling at elevated temperature a benzene having at least one activated saturated hydrocarbyl substituent in vapor form with a gaseous paraffinic hydrocarbon in the presence of a gaseous oxidant and as catalyst therefor a binary metallic or multimetallic composition capable of oxidatively coupling methane.
