Abstract: A four-speed transmission with an overdrive, high-speed ratio comprising multiple ratio torque transmitting gear elements wherein one gear element serves as a reaction element for intermediate speed operation as well as for overdrive operation with the direction of reaction torque distribution to a reaction element during intermediate speed ratio operation being opposite to the direction the reaction torque distributed to that same element during overdrive operation, and double acting brake servos for effecting optimum reaction braking for both intermediate speed operation and overdrive operation, the servos being hydraulically interconnected through a common shift valve circuit for timed engagement and release.
Abstract: Complementary portions arranged in opposed relationship comprising inflexible short segments having inner straight edges, and rolled long segments fitting spaced apart notches on each of said portions, and a pivot pin extending through passages defined by said rolled long segments.
Abstract: A curtain suspension device comprising a curtain board having a horizontal hole at each end for fastening upon a pair of stem brackets, each of which comprising a wall plate having peripheral holes for fastening to a wall by means of screws, and a central threaded hole receiving a correspondingly threaded stem extending at right angles to the wall surface to receive the curtain board at its outer end, and a spring clip adapted to clamp one upper corner of a curtain against the wall. The wall plate of said stem bracket is provided, diametrically opposite to a peripheral hole therein, with a slot in the form of an arc of a circle the center of which coincides with the center of said hole, and the wall plates of said two stem brackets are mounted or adapted to be mounted in a manner such that the symmetry axis through the peripheral hole, the center hole and the slot of said two wall plates intersect at an angle of 90.degree.
Abstract: An impeller secured to a shaft in a vertical type sodium turbine pump is interposed between a suction tube and an impeller casing. A mouth ring in an impeller is positioned in the close proximity of a lower ring secured to the suction tube, while an impeller ring protruding from a crown ring is positioned in the close proximity of an upper ring secured to an impeller casing, with a given clearance maintained therebetween.Pockets are provided in the surface of the mouth ring positioned close to the lower ring as well as in the surface of the impeller ring positioned close to the upper ring, so that there may be produced a static bearing action by molten sodium between the mouth ring and the lower ring, as well as between the impeller ring and the upper ring.
