  • Patent number: 7904922
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically creating individualized, multi-media messages and to deliver the messages to specific target groups or individual viewers. A message, story, or advertisement is assembled on demand, based upon rules applied to each viewer's profile and a library of media segments. The framework for the final personalized message is a story or message template designed for a campaign. A set of viewer profiles is assembled from designated databases for each of the targeted entities. A collection of media segments is also created or selected and then made available to produce the final personalized message at assembly time. Specific media segments are selected and merged according to the message template and information about the viewer derived from each viewer's profile. The information from the viewer profile is interpreted by a rule system to determine which of several potential media segments to select for use in the personalized message.

  • Patent number: 7624024
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for receiving inputs at a portable computer used by personal typically operating a delivery vehicle providing delivery services, where the inputs potentially impact completion of a pre-established dispatch plan according to certain delivery criteria. The inputs include modifications to the manifest, updates regarding weather or traffic conditions, or other factors impacting the remaining deliveries. The inputs are examined to determine if modification of the original dispatch plan are warranted, and if so, a signal is generated triggering the processing of the original dispatch plan to produce an updated dispatch plan meeting the certain delivery criteria. The certain delivery criteria may involve commitments for completing deliveries by certain time frames.

  • Patent number: 7577440
Abstract: An intelligent intersection method and apparatus for network-based positioning include defining a first cell model having a first antenna as a center point and a second cell model having a second antenna as the center point, determining first and second distances from the first and second antennas, respectively, to a mobile station. The method and apparatus define a first circle for the first cell model using the first distance as a radius and a second circle for the second cell model using the second distance as the radius. The method and apparatus further determine first and second intersection points of the first and second circles, and determine a cost function for the first intersection point and the second intersection point relative to the first and second cell models based on parameters defining each cell to select the first or the second intersection point indicative of a location of the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 7574372
Abstract: Components are displayed on a customer computer, each component having an attribute. A component is selected on a display by a customer. The information for the attribute for each selected component is manipulated by the customer. The manipulated attribute information for each selected component is transmitted to a server. Available travel packages are calculated, each available travel package including available components representing an inventory manipulated by a seller in real-time. The calculated different travel packages are simultaneously displayed on the customer computer. The available component from each different available travel package is selected on the display. A final travel package is created by assembling the selected available components from each different available travel package. A reservation of the created final travel package is requested by the customer. A confirmation that the final travel package is reserved for the customer is generated and transmitted to the customer computer.

  • Patent number: 7522971
Abstract: A method and system is provided for collecting relatively small batches of mail that, alone, would not qualify for mailing at a pre-sorted postage rate and pooling them together with others for pre-sorting into a qualified batch of pre-sorted mail. The inventive method involves transporting mail in a traceable container to a holding facility where it is pooled with others for pickup and processing by a mail pre-sorting business. The mail may be metered at a reduced program rate. The system creates a cooperative of participating mail senders working together to earn a lower effective postage rate. The method further provides a solution to the technical problem of postal sorting equipment that is overburdened by medium-sized batches of unsorted mail. The solution identifies and diverts such batches for processing at a separate facility before the batch is tendered to the postal service.
