  • Patent number: 6488244
Abstract: A typing support is provided as a part of a typing station including a keyboard. The typing support includes a frame having a track and a keyboard support for engagement with a keyboard, a pair of wrist supports, and mounting members on which the wrist supports are carried. The mounting members provide support for the wrists of the typist which allow pivotal movement of one and preferably both hands during typing, and also translational movement along the longitudinal axis of the track. At least one of the wrist supports may be retained in a stationary position relative to the track by a retainer. The relative height or inclination of the keyboard can be adjusted by adjustment feet. The keyboard support may include a support member which pivots relative to a base to adjust the height of the keyboard received thereon, and may also keep a sheet of paper or the like in an upright position for viewing during typing.

  • Patent number: 6478283
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for securing a wheelchair brake handle extension to a wheelchair when the brake bandle extension is not in use. The invention has an aperture that allows the invention to be placed onto an existing brake handle. The invention fits securely onto the brake handle and allows a portion of the brake handle to extend beyond the top portion of the invention. A brake handle extension can then be placed onto the exposed portion of the brake handle and the brake can be actuated via the brake handle extension When the brake handle extension is not in use, the brake handle extension can be stored in the hook of the invention by frictional engagement with the inside of the hook.

  • Patent number: 6450474
Abstract: A mount for isolating a vibrating member from its support. In several embodiments an elastomeric element is made up of four components that are preferably bonded to the inclined outer surface of an inner member and the inclined inner surface of an outer member. One of the inner and outer members is bifurcated and drawing the two halves into mating engagement results in the elastomeric components being preloaded simultaneously in compression and shear. The elastomeric element is preferably formed with portions which snub movement in each of three orthogonal directions. The dimensions of the pair of elastomeric components above or below the vibrating member may be different than the other pair due to greater compression strain on one pair of components to maintain maximum design stress levels.

  • Patent number: 6439525
Abstract: The container holding assembly includes a base defining a planar surface. The container holding assembly also includes a lid which is pivotally secured to the base at a pivot point offset from the base. A stabilizing arm is connected to the lid. The stabilizing arm is movable between a retracted position when the lid is in a closed position and a stabilizing position when the lid is in an open position. The stabilizing arm includes two back ends which move through slots defined by protrusions extending out from the interior surface of the lid. The container holding assembly also includes a linkage which extends between the stabilizing arm and the pivot point. The linkage orients the stabilizing arm when the back ends of the stabilizing arm transit the slots secured to the lid. A bale arm is pivotally secured to the linkage. • Patent number: 6378822
Abstract: A step assembly for securing a step to hollow poles and like. The step assembly includes a lock bushing and a mounting base that have cooperating flats to prevent relative rotational movement between the pole-like structure and the step. More particularly, the step includes a first end portion with an arm and a flat. The first end portion extends through a hole in the pole-like structure to position the arm in the pole-like structure. The lock bushing also includes a flat that defines, in part, an interior hole that receives the first end portion of the step so that the flat can engage the flat on the step. The lock bushing also includes an exterior flat and can be received by a hole defined by the base such that a flat surface or edge on the base engages the exterior flat on the lock bushing. The flats prevent relative rotational motion between the pole-like structure and the step.
