Patent number: 6560869Abstract: In the particular embodiments described in the specification, bearing material is applied to the bearing surface of a connecting rod eye by thermal spraying of the bearing material such as by plasma coating. In a particular embodiment the large connecting rod eye is plasma-coated with an aluminum bronze. After the plasma coating, the connecting rod eye is opened by removing the bearing cover from the rest of the connecting rod, thereby breaking the plasma layer. Subsequently, the cover is screwed on again, and the surface of the bearing layer is finished by fine spindling. The method results in reduced assembly costs.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1998Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: Volkswagen AGInventors: Udo Schlegel, Reinhard Vogelsang

Patent number: 6560839Abstract: A method for using a moisture-protective container to protect an integrated circuit is disclosed herein. The integrated circuit is placed into a container having a first surface and a second surface that is opposite the first surface, and then the container is closed with a seal. Next, the seal is broken to remove the integrated circuit for evaluation. After evaluation without subjecting the integrated circuit to burn-in, the integrated circuit is restored to the container and the container is resealed with the seal. Lastly, the seal of the container is broken to connect the integrated circuit to a substrate without elevating the temperature surrounding the integrated circuit above the temperature at which evaluation occurred.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1997Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: Integrated Device Technology, Inc.Inventor: Poh-Siew Tow

Patent number: 6324761Abstract: The end faces of the edge portions of a flat plate, which have been respectively cut into a given shape according to a trimming operation, are then respectively face-struck into a linear shape. Also, in the trimming operation, each of the edge portions of the flat plate is cut into a shape having a larger dimension than that of a finally required shape thereof, and the thus produced excess length portions of the edge portions are worked by compressing when a pair of semidivided cylindrical portions are butted against each other. Since a connecting portion situated between the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions is always pressed with a given pressure, the working properties of the connecting portion in the molding operation are prevented from being revived.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1998Date of Patent: December 4, 2001Assignee: Calsonic Kansei CorporationInventors: Seiji Mashiko, Michito Saito
