  • Patent number: 6910269
Abstract: A method of converting a diesel engine to a natural gas engine comprising inserting a spark plug into a diesel fuel injector opening in a cylinder head; installing a throttle body on the diesel engine; installing a throttle body adaptor between a throttle body and an intake manifold of said diesel engine; and modifying a piston, whereby the compression ratio of said piston is decreased during operation of said piston. The method also includes installation of a waste gate and waste gate adaptor and a timing mask.

  • Patent number: 6904676
Abstract: A method facilitates replacing a portion of a gas turbine engine combustor liner. The combustor includes a combustion zone formed by inner and outer liners. The inner and outer liners each include a series of panels, and at least one of the inner and the outer liner includes an aft support coupled to an aft end of liner. The method comprises cutting through at least one of the combustor inner and the outer liner upstream from the liner aft support, removing the combustor liner aft support from the combustor, and installing a replacement aft support within the combustor such that the liner aft support extends aft ward from the portion of the combustor liner that is upstream from the cut.

  • Patent number: 6820337
Abstract: A process for the production of a panel with a protective acoustic damping layer. The protective layer includes at least one porous core covered, on the one side, with a porous acoustic damping layer and on the other side with an acoustic reflector. The porous damping layer is emplaced by striping or draping. The porous damping layer consists of parallel strips. Edges of the strips of the porous damping layer are positioned facing a strip deposited by striping or draping and containing a thermoplastic, thermosetting or thermofusible material adapted, by subsequent heating, to ensure the securement of the edges of said strips of the porous damping layer with the adjacent strip of thermoplastic, thermosetting or thermofusible material.

  • Patent number: 6820333
Abstract: An existing water-lifting pump is converted into a reversible pump-turbine which functions as not only a water-lifting pump, but also a pump-turbine capable of generating electric power. An existing pump runner is modified or replaced with a replacement runner. Movable guide vanes are disposed, or the rotational speed of the runner is increased. Alternatively, water passages in the stationary parts are modified. A pumping station can be given with the function as an urgent power plant in the event of an electric power shortage. A converted pump-turbine having good pump-turbine characteristics can be economically obtained.

  • Patent number: 6792655
Abstract: A system for correcting twist in airfoil components includes a first fixture assembly for holding a first end of an airfoil component and a second fixture assembly for holding a second end of the airfoil component. A rotary drive unit is provided for rotating the first fixture assembly. A gage is included for measuring twist angle in the airfoil component, and a controller controls the rotary drive unit in response to input from the gage to twist the airfoil component. In operation, the airfoil component's twist angle measured by the gage is fed to the controller. The controller computes how much the airfoil component needs to be twisted to achieve a desired twist angle, and the first fixture assembly is then rotated sufficiently to twist the airfoil component to the desired twist angle.
