Abstract: Processes and materials are provided for the detection, diagnosis, or determination of the severity of a neurological injury or condition, including traumatic brain injury, multiple-organ injury, stroke, Alzeimer's disease, Parkinson disease and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). The processes and materials include biomarkers detected or measured in a biological sample such as whole blood, serum, plasma, or CSF. Such biomarkers include Tau and GFAP proteins, their proteolytic breakdown products, brain specific or enriched micro-RNA, and brain specific or enriched protein directed autoantibodies. The processes and materials are operable to detect the presence of absence of acute, subacute or chronic brain injuries and predict outcome for the brain injury.

Abstract: A method for the risk detection, early diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of Parkinson's disease in an individual by measuring the amount of specific biomarkers present in a bodily fluid and comparing them to a reference level of biomarkers in a sample from a healthy person, a person previously diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, or an earlier sample from the individual of interest.
Abstract: Information on cytokines and cytology obtained from a biological specimen are combined as a method of predicting the risk that dysplasia will progress to cancer. Methods are disclosed herein to augment the evaluation of biological samples from subjects being tested for cancer. In addition to the cell types that are traditionally considered in the morphology-based cytological screening of specimens, methods disclosed herein add evaluations of certain cell types and cytokines that are traditionally discounted or ignored during screening.
Abstract: A live, attenuated varicella zoster virus vaccine is produced with enhanced yield of VZV. The new process makes mass production of a live VZV vaccine more practical.

Abstract: Monoclonal receptors raised to immunogenic polypeptides whose amino acid residue sequences correspond to sequences of oncoprotein ligands are disclosed, as are method for the production of those receptors and products and methods that utilize them. The monoclonal receptors bind both to the oncoprotein ligand to a portion of which the polypeptide corresponds in sequence, and to the immunogenic polypeptide to which the receptors were raised.
