Abstract: A facility for identifying users to whom to promote a selected auction is described. The facility maintains a representation of bidding histories of a plurality of users. At a point at which certain users have already bid in the selected auction, the facility identifies users that have not already bid in the selected auction that have bidding histories that are similar to those of users that have already bid in the selected auction. The facility then promotes the selected auction to the identified users.

Abstract: A financial institution has a web-based server for use in transferring money between a customer and a beneficiary. A customer, having a client computer, and a credit card, opens a transaction web page provided by the server. The customer inputs transaction data into the web page, and sends the transaction data to the server via the Internet. The customer then receives a fund-pick-up (“folio”) number and provides the beneficiary with the fund-pick-up number to use in collecting the funds.

Abstract: An electronic market for trading of securities includes a plurality of client stations for entering quotes for securities and a server process that receives quotes from the clients, aggregates the quotes and causes a total of all aggregated quotes to be displayed for a plurality of price levels on the client systems. The market uses a graphical user that depicts aggregated quotes in an aggregate window a plurality of price levels of a product traded in the market. The market also includes processes to handle lock/cross market conditions, match-off of order flow and provides a central quote/order collector that interfaces to disparate order delivery systems to minimize dual liability of market makers.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically updating the value of a bid variable or the total bid for a multi-variable bid in an online auction is disclosed. The method includes displaying an automatically adjustable mechanism interfaced to a bidder. Thereafter, the automatic bid adjustments are calculated using the mechanism.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a trading interface with advanced features are provided. Using these systems and methods, a user may create orders, manipulate orders, cancel orders, configure alternative keyboard settings, and/or obtain additional information on transactions. When a user clicks on a bid and/or offer, a dialog box may pop-up, thereby providing the user with multiple options. To enable customization of the keyboard settings to a user's preference, a keyboard settings feature is provided. Users may also be provided with additional information relating to the user's wish to transact.

Abstract: A system and method for managing accounting and billing e-commerce (including m-commerce) transactions. The user may connect to the e-commerce network by placing a call from a land line or sending a text message. The user may then purchase goods and/or services after meeting required user qualifications, such as minimum age or credit rating. The user qualifications may be established within the framework of a gateway that assigns a unique identifier or personal identification number (PIN) for e-commerce network access once the qualifications are met. The user qualifications may also be established within the framework of a remote access server (RAS) that is accessed by a user through a downloadable automatic dialer having code containing a unique identifier relating to a merchant, product or service. The user is invoiced for the product or service according to the telephone from which the call originated.

Abstract: Methods and systems for exchanging various forms of value, including coins, currency, credit, debit, and/or bank account funds, for prepaid cash cards, credit cards, phone cards, and the like. In one embodiment, a value exchange machine includes a coin input region, a coin sorting/counting apparatus, a card reader, and a communications facility configured to communicate with a remote computer network. In another embodiment, a value exchange system includes one or more of the value exchange machines connected to one or more remote computers via a communications link. A user wishing to purchase, for example, a prepaid cash card can visit one of the value exchange machines, select the desired transaction, and pay for the card with coins, currency, a credit card, a debit card, and/or bank account funds. After confirming payment, the value exchange machine dispenses the card to the user.

An evaluation system employs a transaction evaluator software module that can receive input about a customer and a type of financial product. The transaction evaluator software module also has access to a variety of data sources defining parameters for the investing institution. When the transaction evaluator receives input for a customer, it retrieves the relevant parameters for investing and performs a series of calculations to determine the likelihood that the customer's transaction will be approved. The results of the calculations can be displayed to the user in a graphical format for a range of transaction values. The graphical presentation of the calculations assists the user in determining whether to proceed with the transaction.

As such, in one embodiment, the present invention creates a more or less standard investment instrument (i.e. the funding certificate) by pooling the CDs to back the instument—thus, the net effect is the replacement of non-marketable instrument provided by financial institutions (i.e. the CD) with negotiable securities issued in the public capital markets (i.e. the funding certificate).

Abstract: A system of accessing through a financial processing network multiple accounts associated with a single financial card. Data is input to the financial network in addition to the transaction data and the account identification data that is read from the card. This additional data permits the proper account to be accessed. The data may be input at the point of sale as an account selection. In this instance, the selection may be used to route the transaction data through the financial processing network or may be used to read data regarding one of multiple accounts encoded on the card. The data may also be stored as conditional routing rules at transfer points in the financial processing network. In this instance, the transaction is routed to the proper account based on the stored rules.

The host server is configured to receive life insurance data communicated from the customer through use of a computing device. A processing software application is trained to classify the processed life insurance data and selectively extract data therefrom based on the classification. Abstract: Systems and methods for linking a merchant card with a merchant account. A financial institution that issues the merchant card to a merchant acts as both issuer and acquirer for the merchant. The merchant uses the merchant card to accept other financial cards as payment. Funds due the merchant are added to an available balance of the merchant card rather than depositing the funds in a settlement account. The funds can be added to the available balance before the transactions settle and can be accessed by the merchant. The financial institution also authorizes transactions when the merchant uses the merchant card as a regular cardholder to make payment. The merchant name can be changed on a per transaction basis if desired.

Abstract: The present invention provides an auction method and system, that is, a seller proposes an expected selling price of an item in a tender offered by the seller and the item is announced and bid on the auction system provided by the manager of auction system, and a end time and a number of bids are set. Many buyers make bids by haggling the price down and a certain tendered bid with every bid is paid, and a bid-winner is a buyer who makes a “lowest price” and “only one” bid when the tender is concluded. The bid-winner is satisfied by buying the item at a low price, the selling price of the item offered by the seller and a commission of the auction system manager are obtained from total tendered bids of total bids and a bidding price by the bid-winner to satisfy three parties, such as the bid-winner, seller and auction system manager.

Abstract: A method for creating investment securities structured from interest-rate derivative and mortgage pool components is described. The method includes analyzing the risk elements of the derivative and mortgage pool components, structuring one or more classes of securities, at least one of which is backed by these components in combination, and issuing the structured securities. A computer program product and data processing system for practicing the method are also described. A novel investment security is disclosed which incorporates cash flows from mortgage pool components and cash flows coming from derivative components. Finally, a method of adding value to mortgage-backed securities is described.

The securities settlement system includes a credit line structure forming a tree structure with a number of levels with credit nodes.
