  • Patent number: 4891691
Abstract: A color sequential photographic apparatus includes a monochrome display, an optical system, a filter unit, a variable aperture, a display controller, a switching controller, and a photographing controller. The optical system guides a display image on the display toward a color film. The filter unit sequentially selects three primary color filters, and inserts the selected filter in the optical system. The display controller controls the display luminance of the display. The switching controller controls the film exposure time of each image corresponding to three primary colors by sequentially displaying the images on the display during a predetermined interval while simultaneously operating the filter unit. The photographing controller controls at least one of the display controller, the variable aperture, and the switching controller, in accordance with a desired photographing condition.

  • Patent number: 4887159
Abstract: Video effects apparatus comprises a pattern generator for generating a mix control signal which, when used to control the combination of first and second input video signals to provide an output video signal, defines the geometrical shape in a composite output scene of a transition between a first component scene represented by the first input video signal and a second component scene represented by the second video signal. The pattern generator responds to a size control signal by causing the mix control signal to vary in a manner such that the area of the composite output video scene that is occupied by the first component scene changes relative to the area of the second component scene while the geometrical shape of the transition between the component scenes remains the same. A shadow generator generates a signal which adjusts the visual characteristics of the second component scene synchronously with the variation of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 4622591
Abstract: A pattern shaped and sized to fit adjacent the inner cylindrical surface of a transparent scanner drum, of a drum-type image scanning system is oriented to display at least one line parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum. The pattern preferably has other lines oriented to other predetermined directions. The pattern is held in place inside the drum by a coaxial lighted cylindrical pattern holder rotatable with the drum. The user aligns the original with reference to the lighted pattern for affixation as desired on the drum surface for scanning of the original image therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4278962
Abstract: An automatic alarm is disclosed for detecting obstacles behind a vehicle as the vehicle travels backwards. The alarm includes a casing mounted at the rear of the vehicle and having a rearwardly facing opening. A revolving disc is mounted within the casing which is driven by a motor in the casing. A printed circuit plate is fixed within the casing under the revolving disc. A supersonic transmitting member is installed on the revolving disc. A supersonic receiving member is installed on the revolving disc. The transmitting and receiving members are simultaneously alignable with the opening and are electrically connected to a printed circuit on the printed circuit plate at least when the transmitting and receiving members are aligned with the opening, so that the transmitting member emits a signal which is deflected off adjacent obstacles and is detected by the receiving member.
