  • Patent number: 11956822
Abstract: A WTRU may be configured to perform radio link monitoring (RLM) based on RLM reference signals (RLM-RSs) transmitted in a cell operating in an unlicensed spectrum. The WTRU may evaluate a radio link failure (RLF) status for the cell using a first RLM criteria based on the RLM-RSs. A transmission instance of the RLM-RSs may be skipped, for example, due to a listen before talk (LBT) failure at a gNodeB (gNB). The WTRU may adapt or change the first RLM criteria and/or evaluate the RLF status of the cell operating in the unlicensed spectrum using a second RLM criteria based on determining that the transmission instance of the RLM-RSs was skipped. The first RLM criteria may correspond to a first RLM process that utilizes a first set of RLM parameters. The second RLM criteria may correspond to a second RLM process that utilizes a second set of RLM parameters.

  • Patent number: 11956813
Abstract: An update service of a provider network transmits an update to an edge device by opportunistically selecting one communication channel (or transmission bandwidth) over another (e.g., based on analysis of performance metrics associated with the channel) to transmit different portions of the update to the edge device. For example, the update service may choose the channel with highest available bandwidth or the channel with the lowest failure rates. The update service may receive indications from the edge device that transmission of different update portions was successful. In some cases, the edge device itself may instead perform the selection of one communication channel over another (e.g., based on analysis of channel metrics) to receive different portions of the update at the edge device. The edge device may transmit indications that the edge device successfully received different portions of the update.

  • Patent number: 11930538
Abstract: Embodiments include methods, performed by a network node, for configuring a physical random-access channel (PRACH) of a cell in a time-division-duplexed (TDD) radio access network (RAN). The methods include determining an increase in a level of remote interference in the cell and, in response to determining the increase, selecting a first PRACH configuration from a first subset of available PRACH configurations. The first subset of available PRACH configurations can be more robust against remote interference than a second subset of the available PRACH configurations, and the first subset can be exclusive of the second subset. The methods also include transmitting, to one or more user equipment (UEs) first information indicating that the first PRACH configuration should be used for accessing the cell via the PRACH. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by UEs, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform such methods.

  • Patent number: 11909683
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and a device in a node used for wireless communications. A first node receives a first signaling; and transmits a first signal. The first signaling indicates scheduling information for the first signal; a linear value of transmit power for the first signal is equal to a product of a linear value of a second power and a first coefficient; the first signaling is used to determine a first reference signal resource and a first matrix; the first reference signal resource belongs to a first reference signal resource set of S reference signal resource sets; S matrix sets respectively correspond to the S reference signal resource sets. The above method optimizes the transmit power on each panel in the multi-panel-based uplink transmission.

  • Patent number: 11903027
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to several techniques for reducing the occurrence of data collisions, which can occur when multiple devices simultaneously transmit data in the same (frequency) channel. For example, a turnaround time in which a device switches from a receive mode of operation to a transmit mode of operation may be reduced based on the device and another device indicating that they are capable of operating with a reduced turnaround. As another example, devices may use learning-based turnaround estimation to determine a turnaround time supported by other devices and utilize the determined turnaround time, for instance, instead of a longer turnaround time. As yet another example, multiple clear channel assessments may be performed before transmitting data. For instance, a first clear channel assessment may be performed during a backoff period, and a second clear channel assessment may be performed afterwards before data is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11894967
Abstract: Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) is a novel modulation scheme with significant benefits for 5G systems. The fundamental theory behind OTFS is presented in this paper as well as its benefits. We start with a mathematical description of the doubly fading delay-Doppler channel and develop a modulation that is tailored to this channel. We model the time varying delay-Doppler channel in the time-frequency domain and derive a new domain (the OTFS domain) where we show that the channel is transformed to a time invariant one and all symbols see the same SNR. We explore aspects of the modulation like delay and Doppler resolution, and address design and implementation issues like multiplexing multiple users and evaluating complexity. Finally we present some performance results where we demonstrate the superiority of OTFS.
