Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for providing a presentation virtualization service to a user terminal through a web based on system profile information received from a cloud device through a communication network in which the cloud device generates a list of candidate presentation virtualization technologies from the system profile information and provides a presentation virtualization service to the user terminal which uses a presentation virtualization technology based on a determination of the capability of processing each virtualization technology from the device load and outputs data related to the presentation virtualization service on a screen. The system comprises: a user terminal for transmitting system profile information to a cloud device which generates the list of candidate presentation virtualization technologies from the system profile information, and determines a device load to provide the presentation virtualization service.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed to provide interactivity using an interactive channel bug. The interactive channel bug (e.g., an “interactive broadcast channel branding logo”) allows a television user to access a variety of interactive services. The interactive broadcast channel branding logo may be configured to launch a functionality determined by a broadcaster. This functionality may change over time. The form of the interactive broadcast channel branding logo may also change over time in which the availability of new interactive services is indicated.

The asymmetric link transmits, over a first direction, a first uncompressed video stream from a first source device to a first sink device. A switch coupled to the asymmetric link receives a request to transmit a second uncompressed video stream from a second source device to a second sink device over the opposite direction of the asymmetric link. The switch locates an accessible rendering device able to receive compressed video from the second source device and to transmit a third uncompressed video stream to the second sink device without flipping the first direction of the asymmetric link.

Abstract: A method and system for monitoring video assets provided by a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN) includes an expert test monitoring platform (ETMP) configured to emulate MCDN client systems at a facility of an MCDN service provider. The ETMP may be used to test monitor MCDN performance by acquiring a baseband video signal and performing a test operation including at least one check point condition. The check point condition may be associated with a masked region of the video signal and may also involve a test of an audio channel. A plurality of test operations and/or check point conditions may be defined and executed on the baseband video signal, while the results of the test operation may be logged.

The method involves acquiring data concerning the activity of a person who is in the proximity of the device, the data being in the form of one or more temporal samples. One or more of the temporal samples is then analyzed to determine if the person's activity during the time of the analyzed samples indicates that the person's attention is not directed toward the device. The results of the determination are used to ascertain whether or not the control function should be performed.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for outputting video and allowing a user to switch between different audio streams in a synchronous manner without impacting the timeline of the audio presentation. The audio and video streams may be directed to a single sporting event. For example, a user can view video associated with a national television broadcast of a baseball game, and switch between the audio from the national broadcast and the audio from the radio broadcast. Similarly, the user can view video associated with a local television broadcast, and switch between the audio from the national, regional, and/or radio broadcast. As any sport fan would appreciate, such flexibility enables users to watch the video with, e.g., the best quality and camera angle, while at the same time listening to the audio or broadcaster they find the most appealing.

Abstract: A cursor control method for controlling a cursor on an image display includes: providing at least two reference points for generating light of a predetermined spectrum and defining a predetermined area; providing an image sensor pointing inside the predetermined area; receiving the light of the predetermined spectrum by the image sensor to form a digital image; identifying positions and shapes of the images of the reference points on the digital image to form a first parameter; performing distance and angle compensations on the first parameter; moving the aiming point of the image sensor inside the predetermined area to form a second parameter; and calculating an displacement of the images of the reference points on the digital image according to the compensated first and second parameters so as to accordingly control the cursor. The method also includes retrieving a permission policy stored at the set-top box device and identifying a wireless device associated with the permission policy. Further, the method includes fulfilling the viewing request when the wireless device is present at the user premises and is within a first relative proximity to the set-top box device, and not fulfilling the viewing request when the wireless device is present at the user premises and is within a second relative proximity to the set-top box device.

While the input position holding mode is activated, the selection control unit holds the selection of the input selection unit even when the switching request message is received, and transmits a message for causing another device to perform a switching from the destination position to the origin position.
