  • Patent number: 5564614
Abstract: A nailing depth adjusting mechanism for a pneumatic nail gun is described. The mechanism includes a firing control strip fastened to the gun body which releases the firing pin of the pneumatic nail gun. The firing control strip has two parallel lugs and a toothed adjusting wheel disposed between the lugs. The wheel has a longitudinal axially internally threaded hole and holes are provided in the lugs. A safety bar is provided having a threaded rod at one end. The rod is inserted through the lugs and threadedly received in the hole in the adjusting wheel. The end extending from the wheel is received in a socket which, in turn, is received in a hole through one lug. A compression spring is provided between the adjusting wheel and the opposite lug. Rotation of the wheel then displaces the threaded rod within the mechanism and, in turn, moves the safety bar.

  • Patent number: 5542204
Abstract: A device for at least partly immobilizing fly line includes a mat that forms a substrate and a plurality of curved nylon prongs extending upwardly from the substrate. The prongs are spaced from each other over an area of the substrate. Fly line can be pulled from a reel and allowed to randomly fall in coils in and among the spaced prongs. This prevents the fly line from moving due to transverse wind so that it can easily be cast or "shot", or the line can be released to a hooked fish, without tangling, knotting or breaking.

  • Patent number: 5538172
Abstract: An explosive powder charge operated setting tool contains a channel (7) located between an inner piston guide (2) for a piston (1) and an outer housing part (6). At the rear end of the tool, the channel (7) continues in a carrier (3) and can be in communication with a cartridge receptacle (4) in the carrier (3). In its front region, the channel (7) is connected via a first opening (2c) in the piston guide (2) with a guide bore (2a) for the piston (1). Towards the rear end of the channel (7) there is a valve arrangement for forming a propellant gas storage space connected through the first opening (2c) to the guide bore (2a). Propellant gases within the storage space are compressed by the piston (1) driven in the setting direction and, after completion of the driving or setting procedure, serve to return the piston (1) back into its rear starting position by expansion of the storage space gases.

  • Patent number: 5537777
Abstract: An insect stopping and capturing device, comprising a handle with a compression chamber at one end of the handle. A shaft extends through the handle into the compression chamber where a soft head is attached to the shaft, the soft head larger than the diameter of the compression chamber. A hand grip is attached to the shaft opposite the compression chamber. From a comfortable distance, the user positions the soft head over a crawling or stationary insect. The hand grip is pulled away from the compression chamber to draw the soft head into the compression chamber to wrap the soft head around the insect as the head is being compressed. The insect can then be released outdoors by pushing the hand grip, which in turn ejects the insect. The insect may also be terminated by simply placing the compression chamber against a hard surface and then pushing the hand grip toward the surface. The head is compressed against the surface, crushing the insect contained therein.
