  • Patent number: 10002207
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for optimizing production of packaging products. Packaging products can be automatically produced on-demand and can be optimized based on stored and/or real-time information. In some embodiments, a request for a packaging product is received and a real-time design optimization system accesses information about one or more design groups. The one or more design groups include multiple design options. The multiple design options are scored based on stored and/or real-time criteria. Based on the score, one or more top designs are identified for production and/or selection by an operator of the system.

  • Patent number: 9798316
Abstract: A motion controller is provided which allows a program to be executed in a specified time. The program is executed, and the execution time of each of the blocks of the program and the execution time of the entire program are measured. Then, a predicted time until an in-position state is established is loaded. The execution time of the entire specified program is loaded. The execution time of each bock and a moving speed for each block are calculated, then a speed for each block is substituted with the calculated moving speed.

  • Patent number: 9752569
Abstract: A method and system detects and resolves impending failures in a sump pump. The method and system may measure a current water level in a sump basin, which houses the sump pump. The current water level may be determined by a water level sensor placed slightly above a set water level mark in the sump basin. If the current water level is above the set water level mark, the method and system may activate a mechanical shaker that produces vibrations to physically shake the sump pump. If the current water level is below the set water level mark, the method and system may determine potential problems associated with the sump pump by analyzing a motor of the sump pump.

  • Patent number: 9690261
Abstract: Robustly stabilizing controller bandwidth for a controlled mechanical system is determined as a function of the system's estimated inertia and dominant system parameters that define constraints on the bandwidth. In one or more embodiments, a bandwidth model is derived that defines a relationship between robustly stabilizing controller bandwidth and system gain over a range of reasonable system uncertainties. Using the model, a suitable controller bandwidth can be determined for a given motion control system given only estimates of the system gain and the dominant parameters(s) that constrain the bandwidth. In an example two-inertia system, the system gain and dominant parameter can comprise system inertia and mechanical coupling stiffness, respectively. Accordingly, estimates of the system inertia and coupling stiffness can be provided to the system, which determines a suitable controller bandwidth for the motion control system characterized by the estimates.

  • Patent number: 9679823
Abstract: A method of controlling polishing of a substrate is described. A controller stores a library having a plurality of reference spectra. The controller polishes a substrate and measures a sequence of spectra of light from the substrate during polishing. For each measured spectrum of the sequence of spectra, the controller finds a best matching reference spectrum from the plurality of reference spectra and generates a sequence of best matching reference spectra. The controller uses a cell counting technique for finding the best matching reference spectrum. The controller determines at least one of a polishing endpoint or an adjustment for a polishing rate based on the sequence of best matching reference spectra.

  • Patent number: 9640997
Abstract: A power grid of renewable sources is stabilized. Inverters for connecting power sources, such as wind turbines, batteries, or photovoltaics, to a grid are used to damp grid oscillations. The damping is distributed to the inverters, but based on measurements for the grid rather than local measurements. The control of the damping is based on grid wide analysis, and the damping is performed proportionately by already existing inverters distributed throughout the grid.
