Patent number: 11756145Abstract: The disclosure pertains to providing a unified transportation service by use of a primary vehicle and secondary vehicles that are transported in the primary vehicle. In an exemplary method, a passenger uses an application provided in a smartphone to enter a trip destination. The smartphone may then be paired with a smartphone carried by a driver of the primary vehicle. The driver's smartphone tracks the movement of the primary vehicle towards the trip destination. Various factors, such as traffic delays or congestion, may occur enroute. If so, the primary vehicle stops at an intermediate location and the application in the passenger's smartphone automatically offers the passenger, the use of a secondary vehicle. If the offer is accepted, the passenger's smartphone is paired with an identification tag attached to an assigned secondary vehicle and the passenger may remove the secondary vehicle from the primary vehicle for travelling to his/her trip destination.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2020Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Inventor: Carlton Semple

Patent number: 11651320Abstract: A delivery notification mail for notifying each of users of information regarding a corresponding one of packages to be delivered by a delivery vehicle is transmitted to a first information terminal (2) owned by the user. Opening time information indicating an opening time of each of the delivery notification mails is received from the corresponding first information terminal (2). A degree of interest of each of the users in the corresponding package is calculated. The degree of interest is calculated on the basis of a difference between a transmission time of the delivery notification mail corresponding to each of the packages and the opening time indicated by the opening time information. Order of delivery of the packages is set on the basis of the degrees of interest. Delivery order information indicating the order of delivery is transmitted to a second information terminal (3).Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2020Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: PANASONIC HOLDINGS CORPORATIONInventors: Yuri Nishikawa, Jun Ozawa

Patent number: 11652767Abstract: A method of processing messages executes at a computing device having one or more processors and memory. The memory stores one or more programs configured for execution by the one or more processors. A first message for a user is analyzed for a structured content element. When found, content from a data source distinct from the message is obtained by executing an associated action. A first message display state is formed for the message comprising a message notification and the content. A messaging application user interface, comprising an electronic message list with a plurality of objects, is updated. Responsive to selection of a first object of the plurality of objects, the first object representing the first message, the user is enabled to toggle the first message display state between first and second display states, the second display state differing from the first by providing direct access to the first message.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2021Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Shalini Agarwal, Clarence Yung, Han Seul Lee, Mary Linnell, Bikin Chiu, Rodrigo Ipince, Srinivas Vasudevan, Syed Albiz

Patent number: 11586991Abstract: A secure on-demand transportation service provides transportation to a passenger at a specified pick-up location. To this end, a transportation request is received from a passenger application running on a passenger's mobile computing device. A vehicle is assigned to provide the requested transportation, and an encrypted data package is generated which includes encrypted information that is unique to the current transportation request. The encrypted data package is provided to a vehicle application and displayed on an externally visible display associated with the vehicle at the pick-up location. The displayed encrypted data package is scanned by the passenger and the passenger application compares the scanned data to previously received data to determine if there is a match. If so, the passenger is informed and a match message is sent. The match message confirms that the vehicle has arrived at the pick-up location and that the passenger has found the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2019Date of Patent: February 21, 2023Inventor: Whitney Skaling
