  • Patent number: 4838197
Abstract: A vehicle steering column control cable mounting clip for an automatic transmission indicator dial system permitting the indicator pointer to be readily aligned with the dial indicia. The system includes a curvilinear looped flexible plastic tubular conduit having one end molded to the indicator housing and its other end molded to an adjustment slide selectively movable on a tongue portion of the clip by means of an adjustment screw interconnecting the slide and the clip. A flexible cable is slidable within the shielding conduit having one unshielded end connected to a pointer carrier and its other unshielded end fixed to a column rotatable shift tube actuator arm extending through an aperture in the column outer jacket. The clip has a pair of spring legs adapted for snap-in reception into the column jacket aperture and includes an integrally hinged lock-bar operative for positively capturing the clip in the aperture.

  • Patent number: 4820119
Abstract: An inner turbine seal is formed of a full annular vane platform structure (32) and a full annulus seal land structure (60). These two structures are splined together (48, 50, 64) and piston ring (70) seals against leakage between the two structures. Radial differential growth between the structures is permitted. Vane platform structure (32) may therefore be designed to minimize stresses in the vane area (26, 28) while seal land structure (60) may be designed to minimize leakage through knife edge seals (22, 62).

  • Patent number: 4803876
Abstract: Apparatus for providing a sight glass in the lower gearcase of a marine engine wherein the gearcase has a circular opening in its side. The circular opening has three concentric segments, the outermost segment has the largest diameter and is internally threaded. The center segment is sized to accomodate a disc-shaped transparent sight glass. The innermost segment has a diameter less than the center segment and the surface between the center and innermost segments contains an annular groove. An O-ring or resilient waterproof material fits into the annular groove and the disc-shaped sight glass is fitted into the center segment of the opening in the grearcase with its outer edge pressed against the O-ring. A ring-shaped window cover is then threadedly fitted into the outermost segment of the opening in the gearcase and firmly pressed against the sight glass and locked in place by a lock nut screwed into a threaded hole in the adjoining edges of the window cover and the gearcase.
