  • Patent number: 8732237
Abstract: An apparatus and method for assisting in delivering update contents in computer networks are provided. The computer networks also comprise at least one peer client, and the assistant apparatus comprises: an evaluating unit configured to evaluate a user's interaction preference according to the user's interaction history; and a prefetching unit configured to evaluate, in response to the received update notification, whether to prefetch the update contents corresponding to the update notification according to the evaluated interaction preference, and, if prefetching, obtain the update contents from at least one peer client. The corresponding method is also provided. With the apparatus and method in this invention, the update contents in computer networks can be delivered between peer clients, not via the server, which reduces the server load without impairing user experience on client side.

  • Patent number: 8504728
Abstract: A network interface system includes a memory system for managing data obtained via a system bus that supports split transactions. The memory system comprises a first memory for storing outgoing assembled data frames and associated control information prior to transfer of the outgoing data to the network, and an assembly memory that stores unassembled outgoing data from the bus. A memory control system stores the control information associated with pending bus read requests and also transfers outgoing data from the assembly memory to the first memory when all the outgoing data for a corresponding read request has been assembled.

  • Patent number: 8433806
Abstract: A method for rejecting the 1× paging transferred in the High Rate Packet Data network is provided, in which the Secondary Color Code mechanism is applied so that the AN which a MS/AT registers transmits A13-paging request messages to the other neighboring ANs, these ANs page a cell phone together and some new messages are added to improve the rejection flow. When the SC/MM is in the AN of HRPD system, for the MS/AT on the multiple edges of AN, the invention can be ensured that the MS/AT in the idle or dormant state can effectively receive the service paging from 1× network in the multiple edge regions of AN in HRPD and can reject the 1× service according to selection of users, which ensures the ability of dual network operation.

  • Patent number: 8392553
Abstract: A system for monitoring actions performed on a data processing device by one or more users. The system comprises a plurality of user data processing devices including a mechanism for interacting with a user and a system monitor that can communicate with each user device and a database. In an exemplary embodiment, the monitor includes a plurality of software agents for carrying out specific functionality. These agents may be distributed over one or many different machines. Each user device includes at least one sensor for detecting events occasioned by interaction of a user with the data processing device. These sensors are operable to create a data structure representing a detected event, and communicate that data structure to the monitor. Once these structures are received, the monitor records them in the database. By analyzing the event data for specific users, user profiles can be created, which can be used to authenticate users.

  • Patent number: 8312109
Abstract: In an information processing method, objects are given unique labels expressed by a tree structure by a plurality of nodes. The label includes (A) name information showing node names from a highest order node to a lowest order node and (B) a storing position of the object. Each node corresponds to data required for a process or a software application. Information expressed in an external language is transmitted and received to and from devices in a network. A received label expressing an object is processed such that a process of calling-up, writing, deletion, and partial change with respect to each node of the object is performed. At least one node of the object is acquired via the network expressed in the external language together with a request for processing. The designated object is converted into information expressed in an internal language while preserving the acquired node tree structure.
