  • Patent number: 4782446
Abstract: A field quality control system and real-time method for evaluating the performance of swept frequency vibrators is provided. The system includes independent sensing means adapted to be mounted with the swept frequency vibrators for developing signals representative of reaction mass accelerations and baseplate accelerations, and means for monitoring the swept frequency vibrator's pilot signal. The system also includes a signal calculating means for determining vibrator operating characteristics from the pilot sweep signal, reaction mass acceleration signal, and baseplate acceleration signal and processing means for processing the vibrator operating characteristics to obtain analysis characteristics for evaluating and adjusting the performance of the swept frequency vibrator. In operation, the present invention provides a method for analysis characteristics to analyze and adjust the performance of swept frequency vibrators in real-time on location.

  • Patent number: 4779185
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for supplying a DC voltage to be maintained constant to electric loads, at least one load being connected via a switching regulator to a supply loop fed with an impressed current. The circuit maintains its regulation even if the loads fluctuate greatly within a short time. Accordingly, the invention provides, that at the switching regulator the switching element is arranged parallel to the input; that between the switching element and a capacitor lying parallel to the output of the switching regulator a diode is arranged which is cut off when the switching element is conducting. The circuit arrangement can be used to advantage in power supply equipments of electric communications systems.

  • Patent number: 4769590
Abstract: A differential signal input is applied through two resistors to the two sides of a dual clamping circuit and the two current outputs of a current mirror. The dual clamping circuit prevents the voltage on either output of the current mirror from going above some reference value in response to the imbalance created by the differential input signal. With one side, the high side, of the differential signal output held to this reference value by the operation of the clamping transistor on that side, the whole voltage imbalance on the input appears on the other output as a result of the operation of the current mirror. Thus, the reference level of the differential signal is shifted at the output, while the amplitude of the signal is preserved. Alternative embodiments substitute a dual clamping circuit with an opposite polarity or an averaging circuit for the dual clamping circuit described, thereby referencing the output signal to the low side or an average instead of the high side as in the preferred embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4744281
Abstract: An automatic music player system having an ensemble playback mode of operation using a memory disk having recorded thereon a piece of music composed of at least two combined parts to be reproduced separately of each other, the parts being recorded in the form of at least two data subblocks, comprising a first sound generator to mechanically generate sounds when mechanically or electrically actuated, at least one second sound generator to electronically generate sounds when electronically actuated and a control unit connected to the first and second sound generators, wherein (1) one of the two or more data subblocks of the data read from the disk is discriminated from another, whereupon the discriminated one of the data subblocks is transmitted to the first sound generator and another data subblock transmitted to the second sound generator, and wherein (2) the transmission of data to the second sound generator is continuously delayed by a predetermined period of time from the transmission of data to first soun

  • Patent number: 4685042
Abstract: An inverter circuit for a power train has a rectifier for rectifying a three phase AC input and a filter comprising an inductor and capacitor to produce a filtered DC signal for application to the inverter. A high to low voltage transducer receives the filtered DC signal to produce a low voltage output representation thereof. A leading phase shifter shifts the low voltage signal in phase. A sample and hold amplifier receives shifted signal, and a pulse generator generates timing pulses applied to the sample and volt amplifier, whereby the sample and hold amplifier produces an output signal amplitude corresponding to the amplitude of the shifted signal during periods indicated by the pulse generator output. A triangle wave generator provides a triangle wave output to a pulse width modulator, which also receives the output from the sample and hold amplifier to produce an output pulse indicative of the signal level of the filtered DC output.

  • Patent number: 4635179
Abstract: A physically integrated assembly of tow magnetically independent transformers and two semiconductor rectifiers, arranged to minimized leakage and parasitic lead inductances, and the resultant voltage dropout during current commutation from one transformer-rectifier to the other. In a suitable circuit this assembly produces a nearly pure DC output voltage, which requires a minimum amount of filtering. It is also possible, when a choke input filter is required in the output, to integrate the filter choke into the same physical assembly, using part of the existing tranformer core material. The choke is magnetically independent of the transformers.

  • Patent number: 4536693
Abstract: A circuit for providing controlled switching of power applied to a load is adapted for actuating and deactivating a power switching circuit in response to a command signal. The circuit employs a switching circuit having a time delay section operable to terminate application of power immediately upon the cessation of a control signal and to conduct current after a predetermined delay interval after receipt of a command signal. The circuit is adapted for use with pyrotechnic ignition systems in which it is desired to quickly discharge capacitive elements connected to a load for prevention of undesired and possibly hazardous build-up of heat in a resistive ignition element.
