Based at least in part on the wireless signal strength reaching a power saving threshold that is above a minimum connection threshold for maintaining the wireless communication session, a power saving action associated with a wireless interface that supports the wireless communication session is performed.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for database scheduling. Scheduling entries are created and stored in a central database and an entity's database. In response to a user request to view the availability of the entity, a scheduling system can retrieve the scheduling data of an entity from the central database. The scheduling database system attempts to connect to an entity to propagate a scheduling entry in near time. If a connection to the entity from the scheduling database system can be made, the system updates the entity's database in near time. However, an attempted connection may have a fail status due to network issues and/or a VPN connection being unavailable. If a connection is unavailable, the updated scheduling data is propagated via a synchronization process. In the scheduling database system, a scheduling entry in the central scheduling database includes a synchronization status that marks the scheduling entry for future propagation.

    Abstract: A multi-protocol network and methods for operating the same are provided. The method begins with establishing a wireless-connection between a first transceiver in a first device and a second-transceiver in a second device using a wireless-protocol. First, wired-protocol packets and non-packet data are received and converted in the first device to second-packets compatible with the wireless-protocol by inserting synchronization-bits non-packet data in a preamble field. This is initiated by sensing arrival of the preamble without waiting for a start of data. The second-packets are transmitted from the first transceiver to the second, and converted to third-packets compatible with the wired-protocol by removing the synchronization-bits. Latency is improved by initiating/starting a packet to the wired controller before a data portion of the packet is received. The number of synchronization bits is selected so the second-packets are aligned and synchronized with wireless-protocol packets.

    Abstract: The invention is ontology-based architecture for performing semantic data mining for insights. The major components of the architecture are illustrated using Network Ontology (NO), an ontology generated for the network domain for delivering improved network management. In addition, algorithms for summarizing performance profiles in the form of rank tables and for extracting insight rules (concrete action plan) from the rank tables are presented. By using this approach, an actionable plan for assisting decision maker can be obtained, as domain knowledge is incorporated in the system. Experimental results on a network dataset show that this model provides an optimal action plan for a network to improve its performance by encoding data-driven rules into the ontology and suggesting changes to its current network configuration.
