Abstract: Interference in a data stream carrying a plurality of uplink signals received in a wireless network is processed, the interference comprising a non-linear product (I3) of at least one downlink signal (C1) of the wireless network. The data stream carrying the plurality of uplink signals and at least a first data stream carrying a plurality of downlink signals is received, and data representing signals received at a first uplink carrier frequency is selected from the data stream carrying the plurality of uplink signals. Data representing signals at at least a first downlink carrier frequency is selected from at least the first data stream carrying the plurality of downlink signals. Interference is detected in the selected data representing signals received at the first uplink carrier frequency by correlation with a synthesized product generated from at least data representing signals at the first downlink carrier frequency.

  • Patent number: 9686735
Abstract: A server acts as a proxy mechanism for node registration with a database. The node initially registers to participate in a wireless mesh network by transmitting a registration request to the server. The server forwards the request to the database, which validates the request. The server records that the registration request was, in fact, validated by the database. The node is then permitted to participate in the network. If the node becomes decoupled from the network, the node may then transmit a re-registration request to the server. Since the server recorded that the previous registration was validated, the server may then simply validate the re-registration request, without interacting with the database.

  • Patent number: 9686188
Abstract: A method of realigning a node in a label switched network comprising a plurality of nodes and a node with a processor, a memory, and a network interface, for carrying out the method. The method includes periodically maintaining backup path status information for the node, restarting the node, and re-establishing label switched paths with the plurality of nodes using the backup status information. Communication with adjacent nodes is carried out in order to reconcile the path status information with respective path status information in the adjacent nodes in order to establish node realignment preferably judged against a threshold value for path reliability.

  • Patent number: 9680749
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that determines a match for a destination address using an exact match table and a longest prefix match table of a network element is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the network element receives a data packet that includes a destination address. The network element generates a key for the destination address, wherein the key represents more addresses than the destination address. The network element further performs an address lookup using the key in an exact match table. Furthermore, a match in the address lookup indicates a first transmitting interface of the network element. The network element additionally performs an address lookup using the destination address with a longest prefix match table, wherein a match in the address lookup indicates a second transmitting interface of the network element.

  • Patent number: 9667801
Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments improve the initial codec selection in a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) connection. Particularly, rather than select an initial codec for the connection arbitrarily or based on data measured during the connection, embodiments analyze attributes of data exchanged prior to connection establishment to identify the appropriate initial codec. Attributes of the offer message transmission and acknowledgement may be used to infer channel quality. Signal strength, the existence of a WiFi connection, previous codecs used, etc., may also be taken into consideration. Latency measurements may be used as a proxy for measuring available bandwidth. Based on these factors, a codec having appropriate attributes may be selected. Traditional rate shaping methods may be applied subsequent to the initial codec selection.

  • Patent number: 9661561
Abstract: In a wireless network discovery operation, before a WiFi station sends a network probe request in a WiFi network to request for network information it needs to connect to an access point, it first listens to communications on a current channel of the WiFi network for a preset period of time. When the WiFi station receives on the current channel a network probe request message sent by another WiFi station, it further delays sending the first network probe request by a second time period, in anticipation of some signals from the access point. If during the second time period a network discovery message from the access point, such as a probe response or a beacon message, is detected and that message contains the network information needed, the WiFi station cancels the sending of its probe request. Otherwise, the WiFi station sends its probe request after the second time period expires.

  • Patent number: 9655082
Abstract: To effectively and efficiently provide control information, a broadcast pointer channel (BPCH) may be used to identify the type and perhaps relative location of control information that is being provided in a given frame structure, such as a sub-frame, frame, or superframe. A sub-frame (or like framing entity, such a frame or superframe) may have a BPCH and a corresponding system control information segment in which control information may reside. The system control information segment may have any number of control information blocks, wherein each control information block that is present may correspond to a particular type of control information. The BPCH is used to identify the type of control information that is present in a corresponding system control information segment, and if needed or desired, the relative locations of the various control information.

  • Patent number: 9603082
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a feedback method for active scanning of a user terminal and an access point, and relate to the field of communications, where a timer is set in the access point, and after the timer reaches preset time, buffered probe response message can be cleared, thereby further reducing an overhead of channel resources. The feedback method includes: receiving a probe request message from a user terminal, where the probe request message includes scanning time preset by the user terminal; generating and buffering a probe response message of the probe request message; setting and starting a timer corresponding to the user terminal according to the received scanning time preset by the user terminal; and clearing the buffered probe response message after determining that the timer reaches the preset scanning time and the probe response message is not sent to the user terminal.
