Patent number: 6939818Abstract: An improved strippable glass fiber wall covering and process for its formation are provided. Initially, both sides of a glass fiber fabric are coated with a first coating applied from an aqueous dispersion of starch binder and polymeric latex binder. In a preferred embodiment a cross-linking agent and pigment also are present in the first aqueous dispersion. Following the drying of such dispersion to form a first coating on both surfaces, a second dried coating is provided on one side only that serves as a separation layer. The second coating is applied from an aqueous dispersion comprising paraffin and a rheology modifier. When applied to the wall in conventional manner, the separation layer facilitates the removal of the wall covering with ease when its time of usefulness is concluded.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2001Date of Patent: September 6, 2005Assignee: Johns Manville International, Inc.Inventors: Krister Draxö, Per Edlund, Torben Hernberg

Patent number: 6749918Abstract: A mat provides for cleaning and disinfection of the soles of boots or shoes worn by humans, hooves of animals, and/or tires of automobiles or farm equipment. The mat includes a core which can retain a liquid, a permeable material surrounding the core, and a waterproof sleeve covering a bottom, sides, and part of a top of the core. When pressure is put on the mat, a depression is formed which bathes the depressing element in the liquid, while the waterproof sleeve prevents the liquid from overflowing.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2001Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Inventor: Johan Staal

Patent number: 6711858Abstract: Pile weatherstripping is provided by a flat pile of strands which are tensioned to spring outwardly to straight condition to provide a pile weatherstrip, when bent and inserted into a T-slot or other kerf in a member such as a window or door frame or sash. The tendency of the bent parts of the pile to spring away from each other facilitates retention of the pile after insertion into the slot. A locking fin, more rigid than the pile, is preferably used. This locking fin engages steps or edges in the throat of the slot thereby impeding withdrawal of the weatherstripping from the slot. One or more barrier fins may also be assembled with the strands constituting the flat pile. The pile can be operated in bending mode or in columnar compression (crushing mode). Bending mode operation can be over a bending range so as to accommodate a large range of clearance between a sash and a frame or other members which are sealed by the pile weatherstripping.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2000Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Ultrafab, Inc.Inventors: James V. Albanese, David N. Hawkins
