  • Patent number: 11168548
Abstract: A gas compressor system is provided to operate at a well site and to inject a compressible fluid into a wellbore in support of a gas-lift operation. Methods and systems are provided that allow for the automated individual control of discharge temperatures from coolers for gas injection, in real time, wherein the temperature control points of the first and/or second stage cooler discharges are automatically controlled by a process controller in order to push heat produced by adiabatic compression to a third or final compression stage. In this way, discharge temperatures at the final stage are elevated to maintain injection gaseous mixtures in vapor phase.

  • Patent number: 11168526
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments of methods and systems for drilling a wellbore into an oil or gas production zone to prevent formation damage in the reservoir using underbalanced or near-balanced drilling techniques, wherein a jet pump drilling assembly is used to create a vacuum around the drill bit. The design of this jet pump drilling assembly prevents the flow of all drilling/power fluid from entering a drill bit Only fluids from the reservoir are allowed to enter the drill bit. The assembly includes a barrier to ensure that no drilling/power fluid discharged from the jet pump located above the drill bit can flow back around to the jet pump jet pump suction ports located in the drill bit thus preventing any drilling/power fluid from ever contacting the drill bit.

  • Patent number: 11156085
Abstract: Formation fluid sampled from within a wellbore is separated into gas and liquid fractions while downhole and in a wellbore. A separator vessel is used to isolate the gas and liquid fractions from one another. Baffles are arranged in a staggered formation within the separator vessel and in the path of the flow of the sampled formation fluid. Contact with the baffles perturbs the flow of sampled formation fluid, which promotes escape of the gas fraction from the fluid. The gas fraction is ported from an upper end of the sample vessel to a sample bottle for analysis. The liquid fraction collects in a lower end of the sample vessel, and is discharged into the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 11143001
Abstract: A method and system for supporting unstable geologic materials surrounding a borehole after the borehole is drilled, while reducing the vertical migration in a sand pack behind a slotted screen in the casing. An annulus is defined between a drill casing and a continuous screened casing. Alternating sand fills and sealing layers are deposed in the annulus along a length of the borehole. The length of the sealed interval between the screened casing and the hole wall is reduced, allowing flow connection between the surrounding geologic formation and the interior of the casing over most of the casing length. The sand pack design between the screen and the borehole wall has a sufficient number of sealed barriers to vertical flow to approximate an ideal sand backpacking, which has a vertical conductivity no greater than that of the formation and a relatively low impedance to horizontal flow through the sand pack.

  • Patent number: 11136876
Abstract: A method for drilling a borehole in a subsurface formation includes receiving measured values indicative of operations performed by drilling equipment while drilling. The measured values include hookload values. The hookload values are analyzed to identify hookload values acquired while connecting a drill pipe, and a block weight value is set based on such a hookload value. The block weight value is subtracted from the hookload values to produce rebased hookload values. A rig state model produces a value for a state of the drilling equipment based on the measured values and the rebased hookload values. Responsive to the state of the drilling equipment, an operation performed to drill the subsurface formation is changed.
