Patent number: 9695568Abstract: A permanent frost protected shallow foundation footing for a building is assembled from a plurality of form parts arranged in a chain that is partially below ground level to form a foundation perimeter. The form parts are made of a lightweight material such as insulating foam material shaped as an elongated sectional unit with an overhang part overhanging a cavity part of an interior cavity. The interior cavity has an opening for receiving a concrete pour concurrent with a concrete pour of a floor. Open ends of the assembled sectional units abut each other in end-to-end alignment to form an elongated cavity inside the perimeter chain of form parts that is filled with concrete. The overhang part may have a foot shape that fits inside the interior cavity of another form part that may also have a foot shape for compact storage or transport prior to assembly.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2015Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Inventor: David L. Patent number: 9637940Abstract: A repair assembly in the form of a temporary mold for repairing holes in plasterboard sheet walls comprises a backing plate for location within the cavity wall formed by the plasterboard sheet against the rear surface of the sheet over the hole to be repaired, a front cover for contacting the front surface of the sheet to close the hole, and a connector for connecting the rear plate and front cover to each other to form the mold, having a mold cavity further defined by the edge of the hole. When the repair assembly is clamped in place by the connector, suitable repair material, such as uncured plaster, is injected into the mold cavity through either the front cover or connector, to fill the hole. After the repair material has set and/or hardened, the connector and front cover are removed leaving a repair region flush with the front surface so that little or no extra finishing of the repair is required apart from filling in the small depression formed by the connector, thereby saving time.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2013Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: Naylor Family Holdings Pty LtdInventor: Brett Robert Naylor

Patent number: 9624659Abstract: Thermally-isolating wall anchors and reinforcement devices and anchoring systems employing the same are disclosed for use in masonry cavity walls. A thermally-isolating coating is applied to the wall anchor, which is interconnected with a wire formative veneer tie. The thermally-isolating coating is selected from a distinct grouping of materials, that are applied using a specific variety of methods, in one or more layers and cured and cross-linked to provide high-strength adhesion. The thermally-coated wall anchors provide an in-cavity thermal break that severs the thermal threads running throughout the cavity wall structure, reducing the U- and K-values of the anchoring system by thermally-isolating the metal components.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2015Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Assignee: Columbia Insurance CompanyInventor: Ronald P.
