  • Patent number: 8599104
Abstract: Modular flexible panels for mounting lighting strands. In certain embodiments, each individual panel is an integral unit comprised of cables and node holders that combine to create a flexible, scalable and modular lighting surface. One or more of the panel edges can connect to an edge of another panel (either directly or indirectly) to tile multiple panels together to form a modular multi-panel assembly. Each panel provides a surface to which strands of LEDs can be mounted, such as in a uniform pattern. The panel design allows for easy replacement and serviceability of individual lighting strands, and ensures that all of the LEDs face in the same direction. The resulting robust and flexible system can provide full-motion video, graphics and messaging in a transparent single or multi-panel design.

  • Patent number: 8570276
Abstract: A computer keyboard with palm support surfaces, and controls providing mouse functions, added to each side of the keyboard. The palm support surfaces are downward sloping, and/or downward curved convex surfaces, on either side of the keyboard, descending from peaks near each top rear corner of the keyboard, laterally away from the keyboard, and towards the front of the keyboard. Outside edges of the palm support surfaces may narrow and curve inward toward the front of the keyboard to allow a more natural hand position. The controls include selection buttons, normally located on a mouse, to the left of the keyboard, and a positioning device normally located on a mouse, to the right of the keyboard, and are generally embedded to the rear of each palm support surface. The controls and palm support surfaces allow a more natural hand placement and avoid pressure on the carpal tunnel area.

  • Patent number: 8564514
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device that uses a liquid crystal material having spontaneous polarization and is actively driven by a TFT, a voltage corresponding to image data is applied twice by driving the TFT of each pixel electrode on a line by line basis of a liquid crystal panel, during writing in one frame. During erasure in one frame, voltage application to liquid crystal by batch selection of all the pixel electrodes is performed three times. With this three times of voltage application, it is possible to achieve a black display state in each pixel and make the stored charge amount at the liquid crystal in each pixel substantially zero.
