  • Patent number: 11443495
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a system for facilitating dynamic assistance to a user in an augmented reality (AR) environment of an AR device. During operation, the system detects a first element of an object using an object detector, wherein the object is associated with a task and the first element is associated with a step of the task. The system then determines an orientation and an alignment of the first element in the physical world of the user, and an overlay for the first element. The overlay can distinctly highlight one or more regions of the first element and indicate how the first element fits in the object. The system then applies the overlay to the one or more regions of the first element at the determined orientation in the AR environment.

  • Patent number: 11430169
Abstract: Systems and methods generating an animation rig corresponding to a pose of a subject include accessing image data corresponding to the pose of the subject. The image data can include the face of the subject. The systems and methods process the image data by successively analyzing subregions of the image according to a solver order. The solver order can be biologically or anatomically ordered to proceed from subregions that cause larger scale movements to subregions that cause smaller scale movements. In each subregion, the systems and methods can perform an optimization technique to fit parameters of the animation rig to the input image data. After all subregions have been processed, the animation rig can be used to animate an avatar to appear to be performing the pose of the subject.

  • Patent number: 11386596
Abstract: A text-on-path graphic is automatically created from entered text and a drawn shape having a complex path. Shape boundary curves are identified from the shape. A set of overlapping boundary curves is determined from the shape boundary curves. The set of overlapping boundary curves is combined into a combined curve. The combined curve and the shape boundary curves outside the set are assigned to segments of the complex path. A cost for each ordered path through the segments is determined, where the cost of each ordered path is based on a distance to a next segment and a length of the next segment. The text-on-path graphic is then created from the text and the ordered path having the lowest cost.

  • Patent number: 11373349
Abstract: Conservative rasterization hardware comprises hardware logic arranged to perform an edge test calculation for each edge of a primitive and for two corners of each pixel in a microtile. The two corners that are used are selected based on the gradient of the edge and the edge test result for one corner is the inner coverage result and the edge test result for the other corner is the outer coverage result for the pixel. An overall outer coverage result for the pixel and the primitive is calculated by combining the outer coverage results for the pixel and each of the edges of the primitive in an AND gate. The overall inner coverage result for the pixel is calculated in a similar manner.
