  • Patent number: 11503453
Abstract: An improved core network that allows a UE to still initiate and/or receive communications via a native SIM line even if the registration of a virtual line fails is described herein. For example, the UE may include embedded virtual line settings that, when enabled, cause the UE to transmit a virtual line registration request to the core network. The core network can determine whether the UE is authorized to register a virtual line. If the UE is authorized, the core network can register a native SIM line, register the virtual line, and transmit a single message to the UE indicating that the native SIM and virtual lines are registered. If the UE is not authorized, the core network still registers the native SIM line and transmits a single message to the UE indicating that the native SIM line is registered.

  • Patent number: 11477772
Abstract: A receiver receives a radio signal broadcast by a transmitter of a wireless communication network. The transmitter serves a cell of the wireless communication network in which the receiver is located. The radio signal has a plurality of configuration messages. Each configuration message includes information defining at least one location in the cell and parameters for a communication of the receiver with the wireless communication network. The parameters is associated with the certain location. The receiver determines the parameters for the communication of the receiver with the wireless communication network using a position of the receiver in the cell and the plurality of configuration messages.

  • Patent number: 11395099
Abstract: A student tracking system deploys distributed sensors throughout a school building. The distributed sensors receive identification information broadcast by user devices carried by occupants of the school such as students, teachers and school administrators. The student tracking system tracks the location of the occupants within the building based on which sensors most recently detected the user devices. The system sends the location information for the occupants to tracking devices operated by tracking users such as school administrators, emergency responders and/or parents. The tracking devices also present to the parents image data captured by surveillance cameras depicting the students. Additionally, the distributed sensors detect the presence of unauthorized individuals within the school building by determining whether an individual detected via a proximity or motion detector corresponds to identification information for a registered user device received by the sensors.

  • Patent number: 11297462
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods for managing mobile assets at a worksite. A system computer creates a geofence relating to the geolocation of a first communication device disposed in a first mobile asset, the data points of the geofence periodically updated according to the geolocation of the first communication device such that changes in the geolocation of the first communication device are proportionally reflected in the updated geolocation of the datapoints of the geofence. The cycle time of a second communication device disposed in a second mobile asset can be determined by determining the amount of time lapsed after the second communication device triggers the geofence. Various triggering events are described. Various shapes of the geofence are described to avoid unintended triggers of the geofence by assets, including polygonal shapes.

  • Patent number: 11229083
Abstract: Embodiments described herein may provide for the return (e.g., reconnection) of a User Equipment (“UE”) to a first radio access network (“RAN”) to which the UE was connected, after the UE has been redirected to a second RAN based on the occurrence of an event. The event may include a voice call placed by or to the UE. The return of the UE to the first RAN may occur based on a request from the UE, such as a request made via Radio Resource Control (“RRC”) messaging. The UE may make the request upon termination of the voice call. The first RAN may queue downlink data for the UE, received from a core network or some other source, based on receiving the request, in order to allow the UE to be instructed to connect to (e.g., be redirected to) the first RAN.
