  • Patent number: 6755654
Abstract: A system and method for computerized competition useful for rewarding a player. The system and method may be utilized in arcade games, personal computer games, dedicated video games, networked games, and simulators. The method may include selecting a target reward level or threshold such as by selecting a score from a list of past scores, and dynamically adjusting the reward level according to the ability of the players of the system. The method may further include adjusting the playback of a previous competition sequence according to the adjusted reward level. In one embodiment, a previous vehicle race sequence is stored and played back as a ghost or phantom vehicle simultaneously with a present vehicle of a player.

  • Patent number: 6719563
Abstract: The invention relates to a driving simulator, particularly for simulating the movements of earthbound vehicles. To take into account the special features of the movements of earthbound vehicles, the proposed driving simulator has a carrier unit that has a rigid floor platform, on which a test vehicle can be mounted. The carrier unit also includes at least one projection surface and at least one projector, and at least three movement modules, each of which has a wheel that rolls on a floor surface. The wheel can be steered, relative to the axis extending perpendicular to the floor, via a first drive, and can be driven by a respectively associated second drive.

  • Patent number: 6712616
Abstract: The invention relates to a system (20) and a method and signal used for broadcasting of a media package (28). In the media package, a name list is established for a predetermined period of days or on a day by day basis and includes one name for every day of the period. The list could be established by a software program providing names from a name database. A media channel is used for broadcasting a name of the day media package (28) comprising at least a presentation of the at least name corresponding to the day of a broadcast (40). The media channel presents the media package (28) on a display (24), whereby an audience is educated about each presented name and its history.

  • Patent number: 6584300
Abstract: A detailed sonar target scattering simulation system using object-oriented techniques to implement a broadband computational simulation of a plurality of detailed target highlight features. The class library includes a target class and a highlight base class from which a plurality of highlight subclasses are drawn to accurately represent a wide range of target highlight features. The resulting standard high-level framework allows many operations to be naturally defined and used with reduced software code errors, thereby improving computational effectiveness. The system includes a data processor, a user interface for accepting user commands and data, a display for displaying the simulated acoustic received signal, and a data memory for storing information representing the properties of the acoustic source signal and the positions of the acoustic source signal, the acoustic received signal and the target, and a class library including a target class, a highlight base class and one or more highlight subclasses.

  • Patent number: 6579098
Abstract: A laser transmitter assembly of the present invention is configured for placement within a firing chamber of a user firearm and to have minimal interference with a firearm extractor during charging of the firearm. The laser assembly emits a beam of laser light toward a firearm laser training system target in response to actuation of the firearm trigger to simulate firearm operation. Further, the laser assembly is manufactured to project a concentric laser beam relative to the firearm barrel, thereby enabling use without having to align the assembly with the firearm bore sight.
