Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for transferring files from a source computer to a destination computer. The system and method comprises reading a configuration file containing one or more parameter expressions representing file transfer instructions. One or more transfer files stored on the source computer are identified based on at least one of the parameter expressions contained within the configuration file. The identified transfer files are transferred from the source computer to the destination computer in accordance with the parameter expressions contained within the configuration file.

Abstract: Various systems, methods, and programs embodied on a computer readable medium that facilitate monitoring of services and servers. In one embodiment, an amount of data is stored in at least one storage device, the data being generated by a plurality of services executed on a plurality of servers, and by the servers upon which the services are executed. A plurality of monitoring applications are executed in a monitoring server, the monitoring applications being configured to perform a plurality of monitoring functions with respect to at least a portion of the data to facilitate an assessment of an operating condition of the services and the servers. An interface layer surrounds the monitoring applications in the monitoring server. The interface layer defines a messaging format that is used by devices external to the interface layer to interact with the monitoring applications.

Abstract: Client network traffic data and server network traffic data regarding a number of network nodes is collected and then grouped by IP address. The network nodes are divided into logical groupings and the network traffic data is presented in the aggregate for all IP addresses in each logical group. The logical groupings may be further divided by protocol, application, port and/or logical group-to-group. Each logical group can be further generalized as either a set of IP addresses (e.g., a business group) or a specific logical link between one set of IP addresses to another set of IP addresses (e.g., a business group link). Either or both of these “groups” may be divided in further logical sub-groups: for example, by protocol, application, port and in the case of business groups, group-to-group. The logical groups provide facilities for initial problem detection and identification while the logical sub-groups provide facilities for troubleshooting and problem isolation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for designing a test network in an integrated application, and configuring remote network devices through a network design application to test a network design. One embodiment of the present claimed subject matter is provided as a system for automatically configuring remote network devices to simulate a network connection. The system includes a plurality of computing devices which are physically coupled to one or more network devices, wherein the network devices are automatically configured to comprise a test network corresponding to a remote test network topology design.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to cloud computing systems and handling of events that occur in the cloud. A correlation system obtains and analyzes various events to obtain comprehensive information about the behavior of the cloud. An event repository receives and maintains time-stamped events, which may be obtained from the cloud itself or from external sources reporting on the cloud. A query engine is employed to select, filter and aggregate events from the event repository. The query engine may take into account metadata which describes relationships between different parts of the cloud. Results from the query engine may be presented on a display or otherwise reported. Using such information, the system may fix known problems or change certain parameters to improve the cloud computing process.

Abstract: A communication system includes a plurality of terminals and a server that relays packet data transmitted and received between a first terminal and a second terminal among the plurality of terminals. The server includes a connection establishment message processing unit configured to transmit a first SYN ACK message that is a response message to a first SYN message transmitted from the first terminal for establishing a TCP connection upon receiving the first SYN message from the first terminal, and an option information notifying unit configured to transmit a first TCP option information notifying message that includes first TCP option information included in the first SYN message from the first terminal and first communication destination information to indicate the second terminal as a destination of communication.

Abstract: A virtual sandbox environment enables a publisher to enforce rules for supplemental content, such as third party advertising, displayed on a page or other grouping of content from the publisher. One or more rule sets can be applied or enforced in a number of ways, such as through active script on a page, as part of a browser or other such application or interface, or via a third party such as an anti-virus application or service. A rule set can specify behavior that is allowed or prohibited, in various circumstances, as well as actions to be taken in response to any unapproved or prohibited behavior. Rule sets can be cached by a client device such that any number of pages or other groupings of content can utilize the same rule set without reloading the set.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, methods, apparatuses and systems are provided that allow a management server coupled to a managed device to establish a management session with a management station in accordance with a management protocol. A management server may forward to the management station modified user interface display that provides additional functions to the management station. The management station may interact with the modified user interface display and evoke the additional functions through the use of keyboard, mouse or any suitable user interface input means. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: A system determines if functionality offered via a Web site is being underutilizing by a user, e.g., not being using at all or not being using with some desired degree of regularity. When it is determined that the functionality offered via the Web site is being underutilized by the user, the system provides to content of the Web site a cue, e.g., audio and/or visual, for directing the attention of the user to the functionality offered via the Web site.

Abstract: A system for the vergence of images from a plurality of cameras, the system provides a first camera; a second camera disposed at some distance from that first camera; a focus adjustment whereby the focus of the first camera can be adjusted by a user; the focus adjustment being configured with a range finder whereby the distance from the first camera to a target is ascertained; a look up chart wherein divergence distance of images generated from the first camera from images of the second camera are provided for pre-calculated ranges; and a processor whereby the images generated by the first camera are superimposed on the images generated by the second camera by the divergence distance determined from the lookup.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer readable code for determining whether a potential relay device is a relay device are provided herein. In some embodiments, first and second information elements are received from a potential relay device, which is an original source of the second information element. In order to determine whether the potential relay device is a relay device, it is determined whether a feature of an original source of the first information element and a feature of the potential relay device are features unlikely to relate to a single device, wherein a positive result of the determining is indicative that the potential relay device is a relay device. In an exemplary embodiment, a disclosed system includes an information element receiver and a feature incompatibility analyzer. Optionally, the disclosed system includes a feature discovery module, a parameter obtainer and a feature database.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for managing services for a service provider at a device within proximity to a location of the service provider, utilizing logic of a centralized environment. In use, at least one real-time service managed for a service provider by a centralized environment is identified. Furthermore, logic of the centralized environment for the management of the at least one real-time service is deployed to at least one device within a predetermined proximity to a location of the service provider.

Abstract: Various features are provided for analyzing and processing email messages including determining if an email message is unwanted, and blocking unwanted messages. Email traffic is monitored by analyzing email messages addressed to known invalid email addresses. Email messages addressed to invalid email addresses are sent to a central control site for analysis. One embodiment tries to ensure that the distance between the invalid addresses and closest valid addresses is significant enough so that the invalid addresses are not inadvertently used for non-spam purposes. Another embodiment of the invention provides for distributed “thin client” processes to run on computer systems or other processing platforms. The thin clients emulate an open relay computer. Attempts at exploiting the apparent open relay computer are reported to a control center and the relay of email messages can be inhibited. Another embodiment provides for analysis and tuning of rules to detect spam and legitimate email.

Abstract: A system and method enables cluster-wide management of backup operations issued by one or more backup managers to nodes of a cluster using a network management protocol, such as NDMP. An NDMP daemon executing on each node is extended to include a processing module and a backup module. The processing module interfaces with a backup manager to interpret the backup operation and, if necessary, forward (proxy) that operation to another NDMP daemon on another node of the cluster for processing in accordance with cluster's unified namespace.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for streaming content over the Internet via a CDN to an end user system. Requests from end user systems for streaming content objects being handled by the CDN are tracked to identify, for each request the tracked requests, a first content object being requested. For each request of the tracked requests, a category of the requested first content object is identified. The identified category is stored. Aggregated data indicating an amount of requests being for content objects with a specific category is generated. A prediction is made that a second content object will be requested in the future based on the aggregated data and a category of the second content object. Access to the second content object is improved such that the second content object is set to be provided faster in response to a request for the second content object than would otherwise occur.

Abstract: A host computer is remotely controlled by a remote client device over a network that carries transmissions in a connection-oriented protocol and a connectionless protocol. The host computer establishes a connection to the remote client device using a connection-oriented protocol, and receives commands from the remote client device over the connection-oriented protocol and implements the commands so as to affect a display of the host computer. The host computer transmits content of the display to the remote client device using the connection-oriented protocol. In addition, the host computer identifies one or more rapid-change areas in the display of the host computer in which the display is changing more quickly than a predetermined threshold rate of change, and transmits content of each rapid-change area to the remote client device using a connectionless protocol at a rate higher than the connection-oriented protocol.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for a plug-in architecture for processing operations on a WSD DCP device. Such a device comprises a dispatcher, a plug-in handler, and one or more plug-ins. The dispatcher receives a SOAP request and determines, based on one or more operations associated with the SOAP request and a configuration file, whether one or more plug-ins need to be invoked. If one or more plug-ins need to be invoked, then the dispatcher calls the plug-in handler and passes data to the plug-in handler, which is configured to call the appropriate plug-in(s) and pass the data to the appropriate plug-in(s). The plug-in handler receives processed data from the appropriated plug-in(s) and sends the data to be processed by a lower level service, such as by a print service, a scan service, a facsimile service, or an archive service.

Abstract: Methods for controlling unsolicited messages in a messaging network using an authoritative domain name (DNS) server, in which a requester intending to send an e-mail message to a recipient queries the DNS server associated with the recipient's domain. The response sent from the DNS server is dependent upon a security policy associated with the requester, which results from interrogations to determine the probability that the requester is sending unsolicited messages or spam. A validity factor is set to a first indicator if the request passes or to a second indicator if the request fails. The response from the DNS server provides the network address if the validity factor is set to the first indicator. A suitable not-the-network-address response is sent if the validity factor is set to the second indicator. The authoritative DNS server thereby controls, blocks, or reroutes the message and lightens the load on the recipient's mail server and ISP(s).

Abstract: In a display system, the invention provides a stereoscopic image format transformation method being used for transforming a non-interlace format of a stereoscopic image into an interlace format. When an aspect ratio of the stereoscopic image is not equal to an aspect ratio of a panel, the stereoscopic image format transformation method of the invention is used for interlacing a left-eye image data and a right-eye image data of the stereoscopic image according to a format of the stereoscopic image, the aspect ratio of the panel, and the aspect ratio of the stereoscopic image, to form a completely interlaced stereoscopic image.
