  • Patent number: 9720743
Abstract: General-purpose distributed data-parallel computing using a high-level language is disclosed. Data parallel portions of a sequential program that is written by a developer in a high-level language are automatically translated into a distributed execution plan. The distributed execution plan is then executed on large compute clusters. Thus, the developer is allowed to write the program using familiar programming constructs in the high level language. Moreover, developers without experience with distributed compute systems are able to take advantage of such systems.

  • Patent number: 9710233
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to providing an application model for implementing composite applications and to providing a declarative programming model and distributed runtime for creating and executing composite applications. In an embodiment, a computer system instantiates an application model. The application model allows users to compose composite applications. The composite applications are configured to run on both distributed computing systems and local computing systems. The computer system receives user input at the instantiated application model. The user input indicates which composite application components are to be used in conjunction with each other to form the composite application. The computer system also provides the composite application on a distributed computing system and/or a local computing system.

  • Patent number: 9703563
Abstract: A first of a plurality of data lanes of a first of a plurality of processor links is determined to have a weakest of base performance measurements for the plurality of data lanes. A switching data pattern is transmitted via a first set of the remainder processor links and a quiet data pattern is transmitted via a second set of the remainder processor links. If performance of the first data lane increases vis-à-vis the corresponding base performance measurement, the first set of remainder processor links is eliminated from the remainder processor links. If performance of the first data lanes decreases vis-à-vis the corresponding base performance measurement, the second set of remainder processor links is eliminated from the remainder processor links. The above operations are repeatedly executed until an aggressor processor link that is determined to decrease performance of the first of the plurality of data lanes is identified.

  • Patent number: 9702907
Abstract: Disclosed is a test and measurement instrument having a multiple variable bandwidth frequency mask. The instrument includes an input processor for receiving an input signal and producing a digital signal, as well as a trigger signal generator for generating a trigger signal on the occurrence of a trigger event. A time to frequency converter converts a frame of digital data from the digital signal into a frequency spectrum having at least two frequency bins of dissimilar frequency widths. Each frequency bin has a power amplitude value. The trigger signal is generated when the power amplitude value of any of the at least two frequency bins violates an associated reference power level. In some cases the output may be shown as a density trace, and the trigger signal generated when any point of the density trace violates an associated density threshold.

  • Patent number: 9683836
Abstract: Methods, systems and processor-readable media for vehicle classification. In general, one or more vehicles can be scanned utilizing a laser scanner to compile data indicative of an optical profile of the vehicle(s). The optical profile associated with the vehicle(s) is then pre-processed. Particular features are extracted from the optical profile following pre-processing of the optical profile. The vehicle(s) can be then classified based on the particular features extracted from the optical feature. A segmented laser profile is treated as an image and profile features that integrate the signal in one of the two directions of the image and Fisher vectors which aggregate statistics of local “patches” of the image are computed and utilized as part of the extraction and classification process.

  • Patent number: 9645041
Abstract: A method for analyzing fatigue life of an elastomeric component includes a step of conducting a finite element analysis to obtain a base state. A plurality of case vectors are then selected to represent a space of possible loading states that occur within a time-varying load data signal based on measurement of the elastomeric component or on a simulation of multibody dynamics. For at least a portion of the case vectors, a finite element analysis is conducted at a plurality of discrete gridpoints along the case vectors starting at the base state and tracking the case vector. Using an interpolation engine, desired local solution variables for a current state may be interpolated from the finite element analysis at the plurality of discrete gridpoints. A damage calculation may then be calculated based on the desired local solution variables for the current state.

  • Patent number: 9644958
Abstract: Validation of solar altitude-dependent measured values of several measurement channels. Measured values of the measurement channels that take the solar altitude into consideration are stored. Stored ratios of the stored measured values for all solar altitudes are calculated and stored. An expected ratio is determined by calculation of a frequency distribution over all stored ratios A current ratio of a currently measured measured value to the current measured values of the other measurement channels are calculated The currently measured measured values are validated. If the expected ratio corresponds to the stored ratio and the stored ratio corresponds to the currently ratio, the current measured value is valid. If the expected ratio corresponds to the stored ratio and the stored ratio deviates from the current ratio, a disturbance is present. If the expected ratio deviates from the stored ratio, the validity for this measured value is not evaluated.

  • Patent number: 9031804
Abstract: In a method for determining measured values from a time-dependent graph of specified values, a measurement is carried out using a measuring device, and a point in time (TM) that is associated with this measurement is determined. Furthermore, the measured value (yE) is determined by using at least two value pairs (t1, y1; t2, y2) on the time-dependent graph, each value pair (t1, y1; t2, y2) being composed of a point in time (t1; t2) and a value (y1; y2) that is associated with this point in time (t1; t2). The measured value (yE) is determined based on a corrected point in time (TK) which is determined by correcting the point in time (TM) that is associated with the measurement by using a correction term that accounts for a dead time (TT) of the measuring device.
