Abstract: A method fastens a battery control unit to a battery housing. At least one spacer is fastened to the battery housing, and the battery control unit is fastened to the battery housing at least via the spacer. After fastening the spacer to the battery housing, the spacer is reworked by way of an ablative method on a side which faces the battery control unit to a height which is required for fastening the battery control unit.

Abstract: The all-solid-state battery includes a positive electrode layer, a separator layer, and a negative electrode layer. The separator layer includes a sulfide solid electrolyte. In a cross section parallel to the thickness direction of the separator layer, a line analysis is performed by SEM-EDX to measure an atom concentration of sulfur and an atom concentration of iodine on a straight line extending from the negative electrode layer to the positive electrode layer in parallel to the thickness direction. A regression line is derived from the results of the line analysis, and the regression line has a slope of 0.019 to 0.036. The independent variable of the regression line is a position in the thickness direction of the separator layer. The dependent variable of the regression line is a ratio of the atom concentration of iodine to the atom concentration of sulfur.
Abstract: A battery module that effectively protects internal components from external impact and increases manufacturing efficiency is disclosed. The battery module includes a plurality of can type secondary batteries arranged to be laid down in a horizontal direction; a bus bar at least partially formed of an electrically conductive material to electrically connect the plurality of can type secondary batteries; and a module case in which an inner space is formed to accommodate the plurality of can type secondary batteries, and comprising an outer wall formed to surround the inner space and a bumper portion configured to protrude from an outer surface of the outer wall in an outer direction to absorb an external impact.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a battery pack which has an upper plate configured to have a seating surface, on which battery modules are seated, and a plurality of members configured to separate the seating surface of the upper plate into a plurality of regions. The method includes calculating height tolerances of the seating surface in the respective regions, determining application amounts of the gap filler in the respective regions based on the calculated height tolerances in the respective regions, and applying the determined application amounts of the gap filler in the respective regions.

Abstract: A multi-module battery pack includes a battery tray defining multiple battery tray compartments, battery modules each disposed within a corresponding one of the compartments, and a thermal barrier arranged in a predefined heat transfer path through the tray between an adjacent pair of the battery modules. The thermal barrier has a thickness of at least about 1 mm and a thermal conductivity of less than about 4 W/m-K, such that the thermal barrier blocks the heat transfer path to mitigate a thermal runaway event of one of the adjacent pair of battery modules. An electric powertrain system includes a rotary electric machine having phase leads and an output member, a driven load coupled to the output member, and the multi-module battery pack. A method includes providing the tray, identifying the heat transfer path, and arranging the thermal barrier in the heat transfer path.
