  • Patent number: 6938790
Abstract: A tray has a containment space defined by a tray floor and a continuous peripheral ridge extending upwardly from the tray floor. The ridge has an inner sidewall extending inward and downward from an upper edge of the ridge and an outer sidewall extending downward from the upper edge of the ridge. Multiple trays are coupled together by a connector member having lobes that mate with the shell-like structure of the ridge, and provide additional strength to the peripheral ridge. The tray can be provided with a shell-like construction such that multiple trays can be stacked compactly one on top of the other.

  • Patent number: 6927371
Abstract: The vessel assembly includes a polymeric cylinder and a circular polymeric cap for the cylinder, the cylinder being closed at one end and open at the other end to receive the cap. The open end of the cylinder has a lip that is beveled inwardly from the open end, and the circular polymeric cap has a beveled lower edge that engages the beveled lip when the cap is place upon the polymeric cylinder. For high pressure applications, a choke cylinder depends from the beveled lower edge of the cap, and has an outer diameter substantially the same as the inner diameter of the polymeric cylinder so that the choke provides a self sealing mechanism for the cylinder as pressure from a chemical reaction increases within the cylinder. A composite sleeve surrounds the polymeric cylinder, and includes at least one wound fabric layer in which the winding can be a filament or a yarn.

  • Patent number: 6889865
Abstract: A storage tank includes a dome placed over an open end of a riser and secured to the riser by a fiberglass ring formed over a flanged end of the dome and a portion of the riser that is adjacent to the dome such that the interior of the tank may be pressurized to facilitate leak detection. A fillet of putty or other material that will not adhere or only weakly adhere to the riser and dome is placed over a horizontal surface of the flanged end. This arrangement allows the dome to be removed from the riser by simply grinding away a corner portion of the fiberglass ring at the bottom edge of the dome. The dome may then be reused for other tanks. In another embodiment, a domed cover is formed on an interior of the riser. The domed cover preferably includes a flat outside edge which is permanently attached to the inside wall of the riser. After the tank has been installed and tested, the domed portion is cut away, leaving the flat edge attached to the interior wall of the riser.
