    Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) lighting unit including power supply housing accommodating a power supply and an LED array housing defining an internal compartment and a lens sealing the internal compartment. The different LED arrays provide different illumination, controlling one or more illumination features such as beamwidth, color and color temperature. Physical isolation is also provided between the LED array housing and the power supply housing to allow for controlled or otherwise restricted access to one or more of the different housings. In at least some embodiments, one or more of the LED array housing and power supply housing are configured with a centrally located chimney, drawing in cooling air from a space provided between the to housings to facilitate cooling of the lighting unit.

    Abstract: Retrofit lighting kits allow for the reuse of fluorescent lighting fixture housings, already in place, while retrofitting new assemblies that increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption and demand, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs. The advantage of one retrofit kit is to quickly replace inefficient T-12 and T-8 ceiling mount 2 bulb fixtures, with a higher quality, and more efficient lighting source, while concurrently lowering the cost of operation, and maintenance. The advantage of another retrofit kit allows the installation of compact fluorescent lamps, of several sizes and configurations, to quickly replace the inefficient T8 and T12 lamps and service equipment, used in troffer style fixtures. Deployment of these kits, reduces electrical usage, eases servicing of the fixture, and reduces heat buildup in the fixture.

The heat-dissipation structure is characterized in a downward-bending accurate profile of the metal profile being formed between the receiving recesses, and two pads being each positioned between the flanges and the printed circuit board, the two pads serving to prop two lateral sides of the printed circuit board upward such that the printed circuit board fits the accurate profile and closely contacts the metal profile with increased contacting area. Thereby, the printed circuit board can have heat accumulated in operation rapidly dissipated from the metal profile.
