  • Patent number: 11543954
Abstract: A method for displaying additional relevant content involves detecting a change to the scrolling pattern of a viewer of content and adapting displayed content as a result of the change. When a pause in scrolling is detected, and the content visible on the display during the pause is determined. A determination is made whether additional content related to the displayed content, such as a promotion, is available. If related content is available, it is displayed when the user resumes scrolling or begins scrolling in another direction. The display of related content may take the form of a promotion on a fixed portion of the display, and may be hidden when the user engages a user interface element for removal of the promotion.

  • Patent number: 11537363
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to generating a user interface (UI) migration plan, including intermediate UIs, for migrating from a current UI to a new UI. A computer system may receive information specifying a current UI and a new UI, and identify one or more differences between the current and the new UIs. Based on the differences, the computer system may generate information specifying one or more candidate intermediate UIs. The computer system may score the candidate intermediate UIs relative to a specified set of design criteria. The computer system may determine a UI migration plan that specifies a set of the one or more candidate intermediate UIs that are displayable in order to migrate from the current UI to the new UI, where the set of one or more intermediate UIs is selected based on the scoring. Use of the UI migration plan may advantageously reduce user interaction issues.

  • Patent number: 11531454
Abstract: Technology is described herein for facilitating a user's interaction with a digital ink document. The technology internally represents the ink document using a data structure having a hierarchy of nodes. The nodes describe respective elements in the ink document. The technology leverages the data structure to identify a set of nodes that grows upon the user's repeated selection of a particular part of the ink document. At each stage of the selection, the technology highlights a set of elements in the ink document that correspond to the current set of identified nodes. According to another illustrative aspect, the technology produces the data structure by modifying an original data structure provided by a text analysis engine. The technology performs this task with the objective of accommodating structured interaction by the user with the ink document.

  • Patent number: 11527060
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for recovering inaccurate or missing base map data for an area while providing riders with incentive to refrain from selecting an alternate transportation service while experiencing increased wait times. A service receives a request for a driver and locates a driver to provide the service. The service determines whether the wait time for the rider exceeds a threshold wait time established by the service. If the service determines that the wait time exceeds the threshold wait time, the service identifies an object within a threshold vicinity of the rider known to have inaccurate or missing base map data. The service transmits a prompt for the rider to capture an image of the object. The service receives a rendering of the captured images from the client device, and activates a function via the client device if the images accurately capture the identified objects included in the prompt.
