Abstract: A sanitary article of the type comprising an external backing sheet which is impervious to liquids, an absorbing pad, an internal cover sheet pervious to liquids and two side flaps with elastic elements. An additional sheet is arranged under the cover sheet overlapping one transverse edge of the pad, and is connected by gluing to the cover sheet which presents, over the additional sheet, a transverse cutting. An elastic element is passed along the edge of the cutting in order to form a waist sealing pocket open at the cutting.
