  • Patent number: 10213206
Abstract: A device for performing a remote ischemic conditioning treatment. The device includes an inflatable cuff and a cartridge which is a source of gas for inflating the cuff. A first valve controls the flow of gas from the cartridge to the cuff so as to maintain a predetermined pressure in the cuff during an ischemic period. A second valve allows gas to escape from the cuff during a reperfusion period of the remote ischemic conditioning treatment. A controller which may be battery-powered is used to control the opening and closing of the valves. The cartridge may contain a gas, or materials which, under certain conditions, react to produce a gas. The chemical reaction may be initiated by an electrical pulse or signal from the controller.

  • Patent number: 10201684
Abstract: An inflation device includes a syringe body containing a bore. The bore holds a fluid that is used to inflate a separate device such as a dilation balloon. A plunger assembly slides within the syringe bore and contains a sealing member that forms a fluid tight seal with the syringe body. A shut-off valve is disposed within the distal end of the syringe body. The distal end of the syringe body has a fluid bypass channel fluidically coupled to the aperture of a connector. The shut-off valve has a spring-biased moveable piston with a bypass lumen contained therein, wherein the bypass lumen forms a fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel when the pressure of the fluid is below a threshold value. The fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel is interrupted when the pressure of the fluid is above the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 10149677
Abstract: A vessel access and closure device places a running suture in the wall of a blood vessel using a rotating helical suture needle that carries the suture along a helical path passing through the vessel wall, then reverses rotation to release a suture anchor attached to the distal end of the suture. A loose helical coil of suture is left behind as the helical suture needle withdraws. The device is withdrawn and replaced with a vessel dilator and an introducer sheath that opens up a larger access opening into the blood vessel and creates a pathway that passes though the helical coil of suture for introducing an interventional device into the blood vessel. After the interventional procedure is completed, the interventional device and the introducer sheath are withdrawn and the running suture is tightened and secured with a suture lock to close the access opening into the vessel.

  • Patent number: 10137018
Abstract: A router device is a intraluminal prosthesis which is used in the repair of aneurysms and other diseases of the aorta. The device also has applications in other vascular beds. The device incorporates an inflatable cuff or sequence of cuffs at one end for fixation and sealing. This cuff may be placed proximal to branch vessels of the aorta. Attached to the cuff is a tubular graft consisting of a generally cylindrical graft material. The graft material may contain one or more fenestrations, intended to align with branch vessels as they emerge from the parent vessel, the aorta in the preferred embodiment. The device features a deliberate taper of its diameter as the device crosses the area of branch vessels. This taper brings the diameter of the graft material to a lesser diameter than that of the parent vessel, leaving a deliberate and distinct space between the device and the wall of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 10004490
Abstract: A surgical suturing device comprises an arced needle comprises a length of suture. An elongate shaft comprises a proximal end and a distal end. A needle driver is on the distal end of the elongate shaft operable to engage and rotate the needle in a circular path. The needle driver reciprocates between a drive stroke wherein the needle is rotated and a return stroke. A trigger is on the proximal end of the elongate shaft. A drive rod in the elongate shaft operably connects the trigger and the needle driver. Moving the trigger in a first direction actuates the needle driver through its drive stroke, and moving the trigger in a second direction actuates the needle driver through its return stroke. A spring is operably connected to the drive rod limiting a load transmitted through the drive rod. The spring may limit the load transmitted through the drive rod when the trigger is moved in a first direction.

  • Patent number: 9937069
Abstract: A pusher guide wire and a delivery system can smoothly pass through the inside of even a curved blood vessel without causing excessive burden to a stent, a catheter, and the like. A pusher guide wire has a tubular member capable of moving in a radial direction relative to a core shaft of the pusher guide wire. When the pusher guide wire is used together with a stent in a delivery system, the tubular member makes contact with the stent in an appropriate manner when passing through the inside of a curved blood vessel. The stent may include a proximal end engagement portion provided at a proximal end of the stent. When the stent is placed so that the proximal end engagement portion engages with the pusher guide wire, the stent can be pulled back inside the catheter by pulling the pusher guide wire in the proximal direction.

  • Patent number: 9931491
Abstract: A balloon catheter can evenly transmit a pushing force applied to a reinforcing member to an outer shaft and an inner shaft by fixing the distal end of the reinforcing member to an adhesion part of the outer shaft and the inner shaft. In a balloon catheter, the distal end of a reinforcing member is fixed by an adhesion part of an outer shaft and an inner shaft. Thus, a pushing force of an operator is evenly transmitted to the outer shaft and the inner shaft from the distal end of the reinforcing member through the adhesion part, reducing a relative displacement of the outer shaft and the inner shaft. Moreover, the adhesion part can reduce the detachment of the distal end of the reinforcing member from the outer shaft or the inner shaft.
