  • Patent number: 9874078
Abstract: A submersible electrical motor that drives a pump has an electrical connector receptacle base. A plug opening extends from the base into an interior of the motor and has a side wall extending around a plug opening axis. An electrical connector plug at an end of a motor lead has a nose portion that stabs into the plug opening and is surrounded by the side wall. An inward facing shoulder formed in the side wall faces inward into the motor. An outward facing shoulder on the nose portion faces outward from the motor interior and registers with the inward facing shoulder when the nose portion is fully received within the plug opening. A retainer inserts into engagement with the inward and outward facing shoulders to prevent outward movement of the plug in the plug opening. The retainer may be a pin or a ring.

  • Patent number: 9797228
Abstract: A tool for both perforating a well casing in a hydrocarbon formation and for subsequently fracturing the formation. The tool allows not only perforation and fracking, but in a preferred embodiment allows both perforation of the casing and fracking of the formation without having to further reposition the tool within the wellbore. The tool comprises a cylindrical member having thereon an upper and lower seal member and a longitudinal bore therein, and a cooperating piston which operates a punch to perforate the well casing. A flushing port is provided immediately uphole of the upper seal member, which port when said tool is lowered downhole allows fluid flowing up a longitudinal channel to flush an annular region immediately uphole of said upper seal, thereby greatly reducing the incidence of sand impaction and thereby better allow the tool to be moved uphole for further perforation and fluid injection into the formation.

  • Patent number: 9784055
Abstract: A polish rod alignment and stabilization device preserves stuffing box packing and protects the polish rod of an oil well sucker rod string by guiding and aligning the polish rod as it reciprocates within the stuffing box thereby reducing lateral motion of the polish rod reciprocates up and down. Embodiments of the invention may also wipe the polish rod of debris as it reciprocates within the device. The alignment device utilizes a rod centralizer to which a stuffing box is made up. The centralizer has a second end to which an alignment barrel depends, either by direct connection or by utilization of a barrel adapter. The alignment barrel is disposed within the uppermost portion of the tubing string of the well.

  • Patent number: 9644461
Abstract: A flow control device having a longitudinal axis includes an outer housing having at least one fluid inlet, a multi-channel flow member positioned radially within the outer housing, a plurality of flow channels formed between the outer housing and the flow member, at least two of the plurality of flow channels having a different flow resistance rating from each other, and a radial window formed in an outlet region of each of the plurality of flow channels. The flow control device further includes a sliding sleeve positioned radially within the multi-channel flow member, the sliding sleeve including a first section of radial slots. The first section of radial slots is configured to align with a selected radial window via longitudinal movement of the sliding sleeve with respect to the multi-channel flow member.

  • Patent number: 9617808
Abstract: The continuous oil pipe clamp mechanism includes a saddle-shaped clamp block and a clamp block seat. The saddle-shaped clamp block is buckled on the clamp block seat. The saddle-shaped clamp block includes a saddle-shaped clamp portion and a bottom, wherein the bottom has a clamp groove, and tongue platforms are arranged at two ends of the clamp groove. The clamp block seat includes a fit portion fitted to the saddle-shaped clamp block, wherein the fit portion is provided with a sunk groove matched with the clamp groove and pairs of bosses. Grooves matched with the tongue platforms are formed between the pairs of bosses. The clamp groove is buckled in the sunk groove, and the tongue platforms are arranged in the grooves and are limited by stop pins. The mechanism facilitates replacement of the clamp block, enabling an injection head to be stable in continuous work and convenient to maintain.

  • Patent number: 9605501
Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the disclosure a system includes a plug launching assembly, including a housing. The system also includes a first flow assembly of the plug launching assembly including a first primary flow path configured to direct a fluid flow into a wellbore. Moreover, the first flow assembly is configured to transition from a first position to a second position within the plug launching assembly. Also, the first flow assembly is releasably coupled to the housing while in the first position. The system further includes a second flow assembly of the plug launching assembly coupled to the housing and positioned downstream of the first flow assembly. The first flow assembly engages the second flow assembly while the first flow assembly is in the second position. The system also includes a cement plug releasably coupled to the second flow assembly.
