  • Patent number: 4685728
Abstract: A portable inflatable stadium type seat including an airtight hollow base which provides a pressure chamber, the pressure chamber being arranged to introduce air under pressure into a plurality of flexible, double-walled panels secured to a base which also functions as a seat. The panels are arranged to be assembled into a protective enclosure including a canopy structure for the user which overlies the base. The panels, when assembled, are mechanically coupled together by suitable fastening means. Air is introduced under pressure independently from the pressure chamber into each of the panels to inflate the same into the protective enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4671569
Abstract: A resilient back-up mechanism for a seat back structure of a vehicle seat for supporting a waist portion of a passenger sitting on the seat. An adjusting member is mounted on a seat back frame for pivotal movement and back-up means is also pivotably mounted on the seat back frame. An adjustable spring having one end engaged with the adjusting member and the other end engaged with the back-up means applies a resilient support to the back-up means against rearward movement. The amount of resilient support may be adjusted by swingably moving the adjusting member by an actuating means.

  • Patent number: 4669780
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling a plurality of power seats in a vehicle includes a plurality of power seats, each having adjusting mechanisms for configuring the power seat in a number of different operational states. Operational state detectors then detect the operational state of each power seat. A switching device is provided for adjusting the adjustment mechanisms of the power seats to a desired operational state. Control apparatus is responsive to signals output from the operation state detection devices and the switching device for controlling the adjustment mechanisms of the power seats. The control apparatus causes each power seat to reach its desired operational state in response to the detected operational state of that seat and other power seats to prevent interference among the plurality of moving power seats.
