  • Patent number: 7457261
Abstract: A wireless local area network is disclosed which includes a plurality of wireless access points each having a predetermined coverage area, and a plurality of wireless clients for establishing a wireless link with at least one wireless access point. Some or all of the wireless clients are within the respective coverage areas of at least a portion of wireless access points. A load balancer is provided for balancing distribution of wireless clients among wireless access points. The load balancer includes a tracking implementation for tracking at least one telemetry parameter of each wireless client's wireless link with each respective wireless access point. A goal implementation is included for comparing one or more telemetry parameter against at least one predetermined goal to obtain a fitness measure.

  • Patent number: 7450600
Abstract: A data carousel contains multiple data files. A procedure determines a worst case latency between successive transmissions of a data file in the data carousel. The worst case latency is compared with a threshold latency value. The composition of the data carousel is modified if the worst case latency exceeds the threshold latency value.

  • Patent number: 7436820
Abstract: When an intelligent VoIP endpoint terminal on a VoIP network becomes inoperative for any reason and can't respond to a service request that it had been programmed for, rather than leaving that service request unfulfilled, a VoIP network-hosted instance of that primarily endpoint terminal-provided service is invoked to handle that request and provide the service that would have otherwise been provided by the endpoint terminal. The network-hosted instance thus executes the requested service on behalf of the unavailable endpoint terminal.

  • Patent number: 7430200
Abstract: Arrangements and methods for controlling communication connections in a packet-oriented communication system are provided. A communication master computer controls communication connections based on exchanged signaling messages of a respectively preset communication protocol and a service provider unit supplies communication services for establishing and controlling connections based on bi-directional communication service calls with a service user unit. An interface to couple the service provider unit with the service user unit is provided. Additionally an interface to couple the master computer with the service provider unit is provided. Parameters are extracted from a received signaling message for assignment to a communication service.

  • Patent number: 7426207
Abstract: When a personal computer transmits an IP address and detects a defective line connection, it issues a transmitting request of addresses to all apparatuses including printers connected to a network line. When a received MAC address coincides with its own MAC address held in the computer, print data is transmitted to the printer having the received IP address and the held own IP address of the printer is updated by the received IP address.

  • Patent number: 7424006
Abstract: A communication system comprising a call control system and a gateway coupled to the call control system and coupled to a first network node and a second network node. The gateway interworks first communications to a first transport type for the first network node and interworks second communications to a second transport type for the second network node. The gateway, responsive to a status change associated with the first network node, transfers a first update message to the call control system wherein the first update message indicates the status change associated the first network node and the first transport type. The call control system, responsive to receiving the first update message from the gateway, determines a first priority associated with the first update message based on the first transport type.

  • Patent number: 7406059
Abstract: A system and method for serving short messages in high rate packet data system for transmitting short messages to a predetermined terminal by registering location and state information of the terminal and using the registered information is disclosed. The system includes a short message service center for general short message transmission, a location and information management server for registering and managing location and state information of the terminal, and providing the information to the short message service center, a packet data service node for reporting the state information of the terminal to the Location and Information Management Server and a PCF for reporting the location information of the terminal to the Location Information Management Server, and providing call state change information of the corresponding terminal to the packet data service node.

  • Patent number: 7406079
Abstract: The present invention provides a repeater which automatically closes a dynamically opened port in accordance with prior setting, the repeater including: a port mapping table where a global IP address and an external port number, or an external port number on the Internet is associated with a local IP address and an internal port number of a terminal connected to a LAN; a control unit which, receiving a communications packet to which an external port number is specified, converts the external port number to an internal port number based on the port mapping table and transfers the internal port number to the LAN; a timer unit which counts the unoccupied time of the port after transferring a communications packet to which an external port number is specified; and a port management unit which checks whether the registered machine is present on the LAN and in case it is absent, deletes registration concerning the external port number from the port mapping table.

  • Patent number: 7394752
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, techniques and computer program products for joint reduction of crosstalk in a synchronized, time division duplexed DSL systems use sequential removal of NEXT interference followed by removal of FEXT interference from a received DSL signal. Crosstalk is removed from a primary signal in a synchronized TDD DSL system having a primary channel that carries the primary signal, at least one NEXT generating channel that generates NEXT interference in the primary signal and at least one FEXT generating channel that generates FEXT interference in the primary signal. Signal data is acquired, where the signal data includes received signal data for the primary channel and at least one FEXT generating channel, transmitted signal data for at least one NEXT generating channel, and channel data comprising channel transfer function data and crosstalk coupling coefficient data for the primary channel, each NEXT generating channel and each FEXT generating channel.
