  • Patent number: 11975653
Abstract: In a case where a person moves away in a longitudinal direction from the vicinity of a vehicle, a condition for generating a warning is satisfied due to a change in a speed in a transverse direction. Thus, a warning system generates an erroneous warning. In order to solve this problem, there are proposed a target detection system for a vehicle and a target detection method for a vehicle, both of which are capable of computing a final risk level, taking into consideration not only results of recomputing a time-to-collision and an impact point, but also the presence or absence of a target that is detected by a camera sensor. The time-to-collision and the impact point are recomputed, taking into consideration a change in a speed in a transverse direction that occurs when the target moves in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 11961339
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to computing platforms that utilize machine learning to reduce false positive/negative collision output generation. A computing platform may apply machine learning algorithms on received data to generate a collision output. In response to generating the collision output indicating a collision, the computing platform may identify a data collection location. If the data collection location is within a predetermined radius of a false positive collection location, the computing platform may modify the collision output to indicate a non-collision. If the data collection location is not within the predetermined radius, the computing platform may compute a score using telematics data and compare the score to a predetermined threshold. If the score does not exceed the predetermined threshold, the computing platform may modify the collision output to indicate a non-collision.

  • Patent number: 11955001
Abstract: One or more devices may obtain traffic data, such as video from intersection cameras, point cloud data from Light Detection and Ranging (or “LiDAR”) sensors, and so on. Metrics may be calculated from the traffic data. For each frame, the metrics may be analyzed to detect whether a near miss/collision occurs between each object in the frame (such as motorized or non-motorized vehicles, pedestrians, and so on) and each of the other objects in the frame. These metrics may be analyzed to evaluate whether or not a group of conditions are met. If the group of conditions are met, a near miss/collision may be detected. This may be recorded in the metrics for the objects involved. In some implementations, one or more indicators may be added to the traffic data and/or to one or more visualizations generated using the metrics, the traffic data, the structured data, and so on.
