Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture to provide a remote terminal capability. A local system is initialized, the local system including a Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM) and a local controller. The local controller is initialized for KVM functionality. A request is sent to a target system to active KVM functionality at the target system, the target system communicatively coupled to the local system. KVM input/output (I/O) traffic is passed between the KVM and the target system via the local controller.
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer instructions for interfacing with an operating system on a data processing system. Registers in a processor are allocated for use in providing a low-level console interface to a remote data processing system, wherein the registers are accessed by the remote data processing system using the low-level console interface. Data is exchanged with the remote data processing system through the low-level console interface. Also, multiple channels may be multiplexed through this low-level console interface.

Abstract: A processor may receive multiple signals corresponding to potential power faults. A control register in the processor may specify actions to be taken for each of the potential power faults.
Abstract: A system and method for efficiently and accurately detecting errors in a network is provided. Devices coupled to a network are configured to determine their local network status and transmit their local network status to a centralized location. The centralized location is configured to receive the local network status from each device and provide network status for the entire network. The centralized location is also configured to analyze the collective network status information and report any network errors. The centralized location is further configured to present the information in a format that allows a user of the network to quickly determine the configuration and status of the network (such as a computer generated graphical representation of the network).
