    Abstract: A method of simultaneously cutting the surfaces of a set of a plurality of rolls made flush with one plane, disposed at equal angular intervals, and forming a central caliber therebetween, by means of a cutter provided with cutting tools in the same number as that of the rolls. The cutter holds the cutting edge of the cutting tool in parallel with the cutter shaft and adapts the cutting edge to face the just front side of one of the rolls for the purpose of cutting. In cutting, in addition to the movement of the cutter in the axial direction Z and circumferential direction .theta., the cutting tool moves in the radial direction R of the cutter shaft. Thus, the cutting edge 21a' is kept facing the roll shaft at right angles all the time in spite of positional change in the circumferential direction .theta., whereby simultaneous and continuous shaping of not only the caliber surface but also round parts 10b on both sides of the shoulder and 120.degree. surface is made possible.

    Abstract: An electrical adapter plug having a body insertable into a mating socket sleeve of a vehicle lighter receptacle. The plug has a pair of ideally located circumferentially-spaced, retractable leaf-spring contacts projecting beyond the periphery of the plug body to establish improved retention and electrical contact between the adapter plug and the receptacle. The two contacts are preferably angularly spaced on the periphery of the plug at about 90.degree. and associated with projecting means located on the periphery of the plug body generally opposite the pair of contacts symetrically disposed on or about a line which bisects the space angle between the two contacts. An adapter plug fuse is retained in a socket defined by a fuse insert housed within a central cavity formed by the adapter plug. This fuse insert assists in holding two body halves together and also anchors the long leaf-spring contacts.

    Abstract: An electrical connector is disclosed for mounting to a printed circuit board where the electrical connector includes electrical terminals having surface mount contacts adapted for electrical engagement against conductive pads on a printed circuit board. An alignment tine plate is positioned over the intermediate lead portions above the surface mount contacts to correctly position the surface mount contacts in an array which corresponds to the conductive pads on the printed circuit board. The alignment plate includes elongate ribs extending from a lower surface of the plate an upper surface of the surface mount contacts, thereby spanning the entire row of contacts.

    Abstract: A connector is disclosed which is to be mounted to a coaxial cable having an internal conductor, an internal insulator, cable outer (or shield) conductor, and a cable outer insulator. The connector comprises a housing formed of a connector outer conductor and a concentric inner contact. The connector outer conductor includes a cylindrical main portion and a rear cover portion. An outer conductor adapter is fixed to the main portion of the connector outer conductor and is adapted for insertion between the internal insulator and the cable outer conductor of the coaxial cable. A sleeve portion, which can include either a single securing member or two securing members to be wrapped about the coaxial cable, is formed integrally with the connector outer conductor. The inner contact is provided at its rear end with a slot into which the internal conductor is to be thrust, and at its forward end with a plurality of slits to provide an elastic firm holding force for holding a mating contact of another cable.

At least one of the friction rollers in each holder is powered. Each holder rotates around an axis that travels along the mid-plane of the lathe.     Abstract: The present invention relates to a milling cutter having a cutter body and a plurality of replaceable tool cartridges circumferentially spaced about the outer periphery of the cutter body. An adjustment mechanism permits adjustment of the tool cartridges in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the cutter body. The adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment screw threaded into a corresponding bore in the cutter body. The head of the adjustment screw projects into an inclined throughbore in the tool cartridge. When the adjustment screw is turned, the head of the screw bears against the inner surface of the throughbore causing the tool cartridge to be axially displaced. A locking screw is tightened to secure the tool cartridge in place after it has been adjusted.

    Abstract: A machine tool has a hollow drive spindle with a work holder attached thereto for holding work submerged in a machine liquid, such as mineral oil, contained in a machining chamber. The work is machined in the submerged state as a cutting tool is fed against the work rotating with the drive spindle. The machining liquid is additonally utilized for hydrodynamically loading the work on the work holder by drawing the liquid from the machining chamber into the hollow in the drive spindle, and for unloading the completed product from the work holder by forcing the liquid back into the machining chamber through the hollow in the drive spindle. A removable chip recovery vessel is provided for the recovery of the metal chips and particles from the machining liquid by recirculating it through the vessel. The machine tool can take various other arrangements for the performance of a variety of cutting operations.

    Abstract: A shaper cutter includes an elongated body having a flat forward end surface perpendicular to the axis of the body and having teeth formed around its periphery, and further includes a thin insert being mechanically secured to the end surface of the body and having peripheral cutting teeth which lie against the teeth of the body, the teeth of the insert serving to cut a work piece and being backed by the teeth of the body. The insert is in the form of a Belleville spring which, in its unstressed state, has a conical shape. The mechanical means used to secure the insert to the body deflects the insert into a flat configuration whereby its bottom side is forced into intimate face to face contact with the flat forward end surface of the body, and the teeth of the insert are thus positively biased by inherent spring force against the flat end surface of the supporting teeth, and are operable to cut a work piece as the tool is advanced forwardly.
