  • Patent number: 9992622
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a program that receives, from a first sensor, a first set of sensor data that the first sensor detects from a first set of signal-transmitting devices. The program receives, from a second sensor, a second set of sensor data that the second sensor detects from a second set of signal-transmitting devices. The program processes the first set of sensor data to determine a first set of potential locations and a corresponding first set of location metrics associated with the first set of potential locations. The program processes the second set of sensor data to determine a second set of potential locations and a corresponding second set of location metrics associated with the second set of potential locations. The program identifies a location from the first and second sets of potential locations as a location of the device based on the first and second sets of location metrics.

  • Patent number: 9986448
Abstract: The present specification proposes a method of displaying a terminal involved in public disaster safety communication in a single base station that has a constraint on a normal backhaul connection. Even when the backhaul connection is disconnected, it is possible for a terminal to communicate by using an X2 connection between base stations, but there is a limitation in that it is difficult for a terminal to find the position of another terminal because a connection between the base station and an evolved packet core (EPC) is disconnected. Thus, there is a need for a method to solve this limitation. Whether there is a backhaul connection between a first base station and the EPC is detected, and when a backhaul connection is not detected, a first ID is allocated to a terminal in the service area of the first base station and the first ID allocated is transmitted to a second base station.

  • Patent number: 9973984
Abstract: An exemplary satellite in a communication system supports communications among earth stations and has a first receiver that receiving a first RF signal transmitted from a first earth station that is down converted to a first electrical IF signal. An up converter converts a second electrical IF signal, from a second earth station carrying information for the first earth station, to a second RF signal and transmits it to the first earth station. A switch switches remotely reconfigurable electrical IF communication circuits between pairs of ports. Signals carrying information to be communicated between the first and second earth stations are linked together by the switch.

  • Patent number: 9967708
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing actions based on location-based rules are provided. In particular, these methods and systems may store an entertainment profile of a user, wherein the entertainment profile identifies entertainment media characteristics of the user. It may then be determined that the user entered a predetermined range of a location. In response to this, a location-based rule that corresponds to the location and that defines an action to be taken may be automatically identified. Based on the location-based rule, the location, and the entertainment profile of the user, the action may be performed.

  • Patent number: 9955314
Abstract: A power service receives, from battery enabled devices, battery charging information for multiple locations, wherein the battery charging information specifies the type of power source a device is being charged from and an amount of time charged. The power service analyzes the battery charging information for the locations to identify moving charging locations that change location. The power service filters the locations to identify locations where the type of power source is a power outlet. The power service filters the locations against a security map to identify a first selection of locations that are publicly accessible and a second selection of locations that require a security authorization. The power service generates a base map of the selection of locations. The power service specifies the base map for each user based on a schedule of the user identifying predicted locations and whether each particular user has a required security authorization.

  • Patent number: 9924293
Abstract: Client to server service request and response interactions are monitored. The service requests have embedded therein mobility-dedicated and business organization oriented reporting headers. At the server side of the interactions, a snooping agent picks up information from the headers, combines it with service performance metrics (e.g., time to service the request) and stores the data in a relational database. Queries are afterwards submitted to the database to spot trends including those showing emerging problems and areas for improvement in providing customers who use mobile devices with seamless and high quality service.

  • Patent number: 9924315
Abstract: Systems, methods and tools for modifying existing geofence notifications using a plurality of overlapping geofences and geo-fencing rules to alter the notification messages as a function of triggering multiple overlapped geofences simultaneously. Triggering the two overlapping geofences may display notifications tied to a special event, marketing campaign or promotion designated by the subsequent geofence overlaying a pre-existing, first geofence. While the second geofence is active, a modified message may be displayed featuring the special event or marketing campaign. Subsequently, after the second geofence has changed locations, deactivated or deleted, the previously existing geofence may revert back to the originally displayed notification prior to mapping the second geofence targeting the special event or promotion.
