  • Patent number: 11582636
Abstract: A wireless communication network serves User Equipment (UEs) over a wireless network slice. A core user-plane in the slice exchanges user data with the UEs over a Radio Access Network (RAN). The core control-plane determines when the slice has a concentration of UEs that exceeds a threshold in a geographic area. When the slice has the UE concentration that exceeds the threshold in the geographic area, the core control-plane signals an edge user-plane to serve the UEs that use the wireless network slice in the geographic area. The edge user-plane exchanges additional user data over the RAN with the UEs that use the wireless network slice in the geographic area. The core control-plane may determine when the concentration of UEs moves toward another geographic area and proactively launch another edge user-plane to serve the UEs that will soon need the slice in the other geographic area.

  • Patent number: 11582632
Abstract: A managed Wi-Fi service network device can receive, from a cellular network device, an allowable throughput rate at which a user equipment is authorized to communicate via a managed Wi-Fi service network. Based on the allowable throughput rate, the managed Wi-Fi service network device can monitor a communication rate of the user equipment via the managed Wi-Fi service network. In response to the user equipment communicating via the managed Wi-Fi service network at a rate that exceeds the allowable throughput rate, the managed Wi-Fi service network device can facilitate reducing the communication rate of the user equipment. Also, a user equipment can receive from a cellular network device an allowable throughput rate at which the user equipment is authorized to communicate via the managed Wi-Fi service network. The UE can communicate via the managed Wi-Fi service network at a communication rate that does not exceed the allowable throughput rate.

  • Patent number: 11575614
Abstract: Aspects include selecting a channel group from a plurality of channel groups for an I/O operation. Each channel group in the plurality of channel groups is associated with a priority level and includes one or more channels. The selecting is based on a priority level assigned to the I/O operation and the priority level associated with the selected channel group. The I/O operation is driven on a selected channel in the selected channel group. A response time for the I/O operation is recorded and an average I/O response time for the selected channel is calculated. It is determined whether the plurality of channel groups should be reformed based at least in part on the calculated average response time for the selected channel. The plurality of channel groups are reformed in response to determining that the plurality of channel groups should be reformed.

  • Patent number: 11570725
Abstract: A method and a network node (300) for enabling wireless communication with a wireless device (302), wherein no more than a pre-determined maximum total transmit power is available for downlink transmission by the network node (300). When detecting that the wireless device (302) requires an extended transmission range (300B) which is larger than a nominal transmission range (300A), a boosted transmit power is determined and used for transmitting a first set of channels and/or signals to be used by the wireless device (302) to achieve the extended transmission range (300B). An attenuated transmit power is also determined and used for transmitting a second set of channels and/or signals not included in the first set of channels and/or signals, which provides a slightly reduced transmission range (300C) for the second set.

  • Patent number: 11563829
Abstract: Various examples and schemes pertaining to simple Ethernet header compression are described. A first network node transmits a first packet with a full header to a second network node. The first network node determines whether a header compression context for the full header has been established by the second network node. In response to determining that the header compression context for the full header has been established by the second network node, the first network node transmits a second packet with a compressed header to the second network node. In response to determining that the header compression context for the full header has not been established by the second network node, the first network node transmits the second packet or a third packet with the full header to the second network node.

  • Patent number: 11558281
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for allocating the same ESI label on multihomed peers for a given ES. In some embodiments, each network device that provides multihoming to a host using an ES, advertises EVPN AD per ES routes to each other, wherein the EVPN AD per ES routes comprise an ESI label associated with the ES. Because the network devices advertise the same ESI label for the ES, a first network device generates a bitmap. The first network device uses the bitmap to include the advertised ESI label in replicated packets that the first network device forwards to the other network devices that provide multihoming to the host via the ES. The network devices that consider themselves non-DF devices will drop the packet. The network devices that consider themselves the DF device will not forward the packet to the host via the ES because of the ESI label.
