Abstract: An icon associated with content (e.g., webpage content) is created on a mobile device. In one implementation, the content is displayed on the mobile device and an indication is received to create an icon associated with the content. All or a portion of the content is rendered into the icon, and the icon is displayed on a user interface of the mobile device.

Abstract: A content server system provides a user of a client device with a playlist of content, such as streamed audio. The provided playlist is customized for the particular country of the user, even if the content server system has only recently begun to provide content to that country. To customize the playlist for a country lacking a sufficient amount of country-specific statistical data, the content server system generates a number of non-country-specific channels, each channel recommending content according to its own criteria. The content server system generates a non-content specific playlist by combining the channels. The content server system also generates, using the statistics for the country of the user, a country-specific channel that is specific to that country. The content server system generates a country-specific playlist by combining the non-country-specific playlist with the country-specific channel, e.g., according to the amount of country-specific statistics that are available.

Abstract: Systems and methods to present information to a user regarding favorite contacts of the user. In one embodiment, a method includes: storing a plurality of person profiles for persons referenced in communications received by a user of a computing device; selecting, using at least one processor, a set of contacts from the plurality of person profiles based on a relevancy ranking, wherein the set of contacts is selected for display to the user on the computing device; and organizing, using the at least one processor, the set of contacts into at least two time groups, each time group associated with a different time period, wherein contacts will be displayed to the user within each time group based on a relevancy ranking for each contact within the time group.

Abstract: An organization mode in a user interface that displays multiple user interface elements. The multiple user interface elements fit over a grid positions that are at least conceptually imposed over a canvas. In organization mode, the grid positions are displayed, allowing the user to more easily see where user interface elements may be placed. As the user moves and/or resizes a user interface element, one or more corresponding grid positions are highlighted to show where the user interface element would be placed if the move or resize operation were to conclude at that moment. The organization mode may also provide a contextual actions menu with respect to a particular user interface element. The contextual actions menu includes multiple organization mode commands, including one or more that may be directed selected from the contextual actions menu to invoke the command.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a first computing device having a controller to present an avatar having characteristics that correlate to a user profile and that conform to operating characteristics of the first computing device, and transmit to a second computing device operational information associated with the avatar for reproducing at least in part the avatar at said second computing device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for configuring customizations to legacy tasks as part of modernizing such tasks are provided. Example embodiments of an RBMS provide tiered configuration so that end users can be provided with tools with which they can further modernize legacy tasks in ways that do not tamper with the integrity of the system. For example, in one embodiment at least two configuration levels are available: (1) an administrator level that can control and configure aspects of the RBMS such as the legacy and non-legacy tasks associated with a particular role and defining what tools will be provided to the end user level and (2) an end user level. Example embodiments provide a Role-Based Modernization System (“RBMS”), which uses these enhanced modernization techniques to provide role-based modernization of menu-based legacy applications.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for delivery/read receipts for electronic messaging are disclosed. During one-on-one electronic messaging sessions in a conversation view format, only a single read receipt is shown only for the most recent message transmitted in the conversation. In some implementations, a delivery receipt is shown which then can be replaced or morphed into a read receipt. In a group conversation, a read receipt can be displayed for the recipient who most recently caught up in the ongoing conversation.

Abstract: A user control is provided for use with a multidimensional dataset that allows a user to graphically set the bounds for one or more of the dimensions of data selected from the dataset. The graphical user control includes a wireframe cube representing the extent of data in the dataset and a selector box within the data cube. A user can indicate a selected perspective and orientation of the data by selecting a portion of an edge of the selector box, and a visual indication of the selected perspective and orientation is provided. The user further can select a desired portion of the data by changing a size and/or a position of the selector box within the data cube. The graphical user control further includes a visual indicator representing the fourth dimension of the dataset and one or more navigation buttons.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method of controlling therefor. The mobile terminal includes a touch screen configured to display information on a screen of a circle form and a controller configured to control two or more touch keys to which at least one or more characters different from each other are respectively assigned to be arranged along with a border of the screen and when a first touch input is received on at least one or more keys among the touch keys, the controller configured to control an operation relevant to the at least one or more characters assigned to the at least one or more keys. A user can easily input a character and watch a currently used screen at a glance at the same time in a manner of displaying each of the touch keys of a keypad along with the border of the touch screen of the circle form in a size capable of being easily touched by the user.

Abstract: A system includes a first audio device having a first microphone, first speaker, and first wireless interface, a second audio device having a second speaker and second wireless interface, and a computing device having a user interface. The user interface presents representations of the first and second audio devices. Upon receiving user input indicating a connection between the representations of the first and second audio devices, the computing device inquires whether a first or second mode should be used. Upon receiving user input confirming the first mode should be used, the computing device instructs the first audio device to send audio signals detected by the first microphone to the second audio device, which reproduces the audio signals. The first mode is selected based on whether the first and second audio devices is a loudspeaker or a headset.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for automatically managing control configurations in an application graphical user interface (GUI). Interface element specifications may be configured via a customized overlay file corresponding to at least one party having influence over the application controlled by the GUI, such as an application vendor, a user group, and an individual user. The overlay file is created and saved via an interface manager GUI that allows new interface elements such as toolbars and toolbar buttons to be added, and existing interface elements to be modified, but does not allow existing default interface elements to be destructively edited, only hidden or visibly disabled. The overlay file is processed during program environment startup and when user actions trigger a separate application or feature window activation or reset a particular overlay file's modifications. Compatibility with vendor-supplied default interfaces and other overlay file based customizations is maintained.

Abstract: A method of launching a software program or application is provided for use with a graphical user interface (GUI) display. One portion of the GUI display includes a taskbar while a second portion is divided into a plurality of windows. To launch one of the programs/applications represented by the icons within the taskbar, the user first selects the icon representing the icon to be launched. When the user drags the selected icon into one of the windows and then releases the icon, the selected program/application is launched in the selected window.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to a remote display area including input lenses each depicting a region of a graphical user interface. Examples include, in response to detection of a graphical user interface (GUI) input event with a remote computing device within an input lens having input focus, invoking the GUI input event at a location of the GUI of a local computing device within the region of the GUI depicted in the input lens having input focus.

Abstract: Systems and methods for digitally drawing on virtual 3D object surfaces using a 3D display system. A 3D drawing mode may be enabled and a display screen of the system may correspond to a zero parallax plane of a 3D scene that may present a plurality of surfaces at non-zero parallax planes. User input may be received at a location on the display screen, and in response, a surface may be specified, rendered, and displayed at the zero parallax plane. Further, additional user input on the display screen may be received specifying drawing motion across the rendered and displayed surface. The drawing motion may start at the location and continue across a boundary between the surface and another contiguous surface. Accordingly, in response to the drawing motion crossing the boundary, the contiguous surface may be rendered and displayed at the zero parallax plane along with results of the drawing motion.

Abstract: An input and processing system allows user input information such as user affinity to efficiently block content and request content as well as novel input of commands such as copy/paste on a small mobile device screen among other computing devices. A client/server is also made more efficient due to the enhanced gathering of information such as content feedback from users. Yet another disclosure regards a system allowing leveraging of preexisting information to display content and select brands for user feedback. Also disclosed are systems for increasing sales efficiency, and various GUI interfaces.

The presenting of the diagram includes presenting a first row that defines a location where objects of a first object type can be created, wherein a first ghosted object of a first object type is displayed in the first row. The first ghosted object represents a first creatable object of the first object type. The presenting of the diagram includes presenting a second row that defines a location where objects of a second object type can be created. The method also includes responsive to a first input to create a first object of the first object type in the first row, creating the first object of the first object type. Also in response to the first input, the method includes graphically changing the first ghosted object into the first object and presenting a second ghosted object of the second object type in the second row.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for enabling an unlimited multi-user desktop environment. In accordance with an embodiment, the system includes a computing device hosting the desktop. Each user connects to the desktop through the same or different computing devices. Each user will, in their client-area, render a section of the unlimited sized multi-user desktop. The section can be the same or different for all users. In accordance with an embodiment, compatible objects can be allowed to render the same content at different content positions for each connected user. For example, a user can scroll on a shared webpage without impacting the scroll position for other users looking at the same window of the same webpage. Additional embodiments are also described herein.
