  • Patent number: 9953411
Abstract: To analyze a tire surface, a 3D elevational image is captured, which is formed of pixels representing points on the surface. Each point is assigned a grey-level value proportional to its elevation relative to a surface level. Based on the elevations in the elevational image, an orientational image is formed showing elevation gradients of the surface. In the orientational image, which is formed of pixels representing points on the surface, each point is assigned a grey-level value proportional to an angle formed with a direction given by a projection in an image plane of a non-zero norm vector substantially corresponding, at this point, to a gradient vector tangent to the surface and oriented in a direction of greatest slope. A filtered image is determined by transforming the orientational image using a filter to select areas that include structures similar to those in a reference orientational image of a blow hole.

  • Patent number: 9940339
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for reducing functional ambiguity from an image. In one embodiment, an input image is received and processed to identify objects. Spatial proximity score of the identified objects are determined based on which functional proximity score of functionalities associated with the identified objects is further determined. Upon determining the functional proximity score, possible domain of all the functionalities associated with the identified objects is determined. Further, a domain score is determined based on which the ambiguity of the domain related to the input image is reduced. A text summary of objects, functionalities and possible domains associated with the input image is then generated upon mapping with one or more user profiles and displayed to end user.

  • Patent number: 9924917
Abstract: The present invention is capable of distinguishing four types or more of substances such as air, water (soft tissues), contrast medium, and bones (calcification) to diagnose progress of atherosclerotic sites using dual energy imaging. A subject is imaged with two types of different tube voltages and an image obtained by image reconstruction is binarized to carry out a reprojection process; thereby, the distance of penetration of air is estimated, the contribution of air in measurement projection data is determined, and the amount of reduction by the air is deducted from the projection data so as to enable distinction between four or more substances such as air, water (soft tissues), contrast medium, and bones (calcification).
