Abstract: A method of blending at least one virtual construction jobsite object and at least one real construction jobsite object in a dynamic augmented reality scene of a construction jobsite includes several steps. One step involves capturing a depth map image via a depth sensing device, and capturing a red, green, and blue (RGB) image via an RGB image-capturing device. Another step involves registering the depth map image and the RGB image to a common coordinate system. Yet another step involves projecting the at least one virtual construction jobsite object in a scene of the construction jobsite with the use of geographical information system (GIS) data, computer-aided design (CAD) data, or both types of data, to generate the augmented reality scene of the construction jobsite. And yet another step involves removing hidden surfaces of the at least one virtual construction jobsite object in the augmented reality scene.

Abstract: A base station communicates with a mobile station. The base station includes a wireless communication unit and a control unit. The wireless communication unit transmits an alert periodically to the mobile station using a first channel, receives, from the mobile station, alert reception information related to reception of the alert, and transmits at least a part of the alert to the mobile station using a second channel different from the first channel. The control unit instructs the wireless communication unit, in response to the alert reception information, to transmit to the mobile station at least a part of the alert using the second channel.
Abstract: A flexible representation of destination-source data block dependency is included in an image graph implementation optimization API to provide a mechanism for a graph node developer to communicate limits of scheduling constraints imposed by a graph's node connections. An image graph compiler and/or image graph executor may employ the destination-source data block dependency defined through the image graph implementation API to schedule work tasks to hardware resources in a more efficient manner.
Abstract: There are provided mechanisms for wireless devices to initiate direct-mode or device-to-device communications by exploiting the availability of the existing network coverage. Short range communications in a wireless communications system between a first wireless device and a second wireless device involves exchanging messages between the first wireless device and the second wireless device, first on a first communications link via a network node and then on a second communications link. A corresponding method is provided.
Abstract: An image processing device that changes the output format of the generated printout can dynamically change the output format of the printout using print data from an existing system. An image processing device that executes a process to change the output format of a printout has an output format selector that selects a template determining the format of the printout based on information contained in the print data for the printout, and a print data generator that changes the print data according to the selected template.
Abstract: A method with a tethered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) associated with a cell site includes causing the UAV to fly at or near the cell site while the UAV is tethered at or near the cell site via a connection, wherein flight of the UAV at or near the cell site is constrained based on the connection; and performing one or more functions via the UAV at the cell site while the UAV is flying tethered at or near the cell site. The one or more functions can include functions related to a cell site audit. Alternatively, the one or more functions include functions related to providing wireless service via the UAV at the cell site, wherein data and/or power is transferred between the UAV and the cell site to perform the wireless service.

Abstract: Consistent tessellation via topology-aware surface tracking is provided in which a series of meshes is approximated by taking one or more meshes from the series and calculating a transformation field to transform the keyframe mesh into each mesh of the series, and substituting the transformed keyframe meshes for the original meshes. The keyframe mesh may be selected advisedly based upon a scoring metric. An error measurement on the transformed keyframe exceeding tolerance or threshold may suggest another keyframe be selected for one or more frames in the series. The sequence of frames may be divided into a number of subsequences to permit parallel processing, including two or more recursive levels of keyframe substitution. The transformed keyframe meshes achieve more consistent tessellation of the object across the series.

Abstract: An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based installation method for equipment on cell towers includes flying the UAV with the equipment attached thereto upwards to a desired location on the cell tower, wherein the desired location comprises one or more horizontal support structures; positioning the equipment to the desired location on the cell tower; connecting the equipment to the desired location; and disconnecting the equipment from the UAV.
Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating scanning devices are described. The method comprises dividing a dark scan image of a calibration strip into one or more regions. The dark scan image is further analyzed to obtain at least one data point from each of the one or more regions. Further, calibration values for each of the one or more regions are computed based on the at least one data point for calibrating the scanning device. The calibration values include mean and standard deviation of the data points for each of the one or more regions.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a processor; a memory, a firmware, and a video agent. The memory includes a frame buffer for image data. The frame buffer accessible to an operating system. The firmware is configured to present to the operating system a graphics output protocol. The graphics output protocol includes an address of the portion of the reserved portion of the memory and soft video display parameters. The video agent is configured to retrieve image data from the reserved portion of the memory, and provide the image data to an external system for remote video display to be completed upon finalization of application.
Abstract: An information processing method and an electronic device are disclosed. The electronic device has a display unit and the method includes receiving a first operation for covering a first display region of the display unit; determining the first display region corresponding to the first operation, and thereby determining a second display region which is a part of or all of the first display region; analyzing a display object in the second display region to obtain first identification data satisfying a predetermined condition; and storing the first identification data.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing user distraction is provided herein. During operation a user device will show content for limited periods of time during a context where the user is not to be distracted. So for example, a police officer driving may only be able to look at the screen of his device for a first period of time (e.g., 3 seconds). After that period of time, the device will prevent further viewing (preferably by turning off the screen). After a second period of time (e.g., 10 seconds), the device will again allow the officer to look at the screen for the first period of time. When the device has determined that user distraction does not need to be prevented, the device will allow full access to the user.
Abstract: A method displays a copy of a specified display area on a computer display. A first signal is received from a user. The first signal specifies a display area on a display as a specified display area. The specified display area presents a dynamic activity being performed on a computer. A second signal is received from the user to identify a particular object in the specified display area. A copy of the specified display area, which includes only the particular object, is generated. The copy of the specified display area has a same shape as the specified display area, presents the dynamic activity being performed on the computer, and is displayed on the display.
