  • Patent number: 9462154
Abstract: An image processing device reduces an image in a sub-scanning direction at a reduction factor of ½N (N>1) and includes one or more ASICs each of which performs image reduction at a reduction factor of 50%. When the one or more ASICs perform the image reduction processing in N stages each at the reduction factor of 50%, one of the ASICs performs an i-th stage of the image reduction processing at 50% (N?1?i?1) and stores resulting image data into a buffer memory that is equal in size to ½i of one band. Then, one of the ASICs performs an (i+1)-th stage of the image reduction processing at 50% on the image data acquired through the i-th stage of the image reduction processing and stores resulting image data into a buffer memory that is equal in size to ½i+1 of one band.

  • Patent number: 9451530
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a base station in a cellular communication network and methods of operation thereof. In one embodiment, a base station determines that the base station is transitioning to an unavailable state. The base station then notifies one or more radio network nodes with which the base station conducts base-station-to-node communication that the base station is unavailable. Thereafter, in one embodiment, the one or more radio network nodes cease communication attempts with the base station. In this manner, the radio network nodes can avoid spending additional resources on attempts to re-establish communication connections to base stations that tend to be offline more often (e.g., low-power base stations (LP-BSs)).

  • Patent number: 9400949
Abstract: In a state in which an authentication screen in any one display language of a plurality of display languages is displayed, every time a predetermined number of characters are input to an ID input field, an ID including the characters input to the ID input field in order from a first-input is retrieved from user data. Ids, obtained as a result of the retrieval, are set as candidate IDs. When all display languages selected by users having the candidate IDs are the same, the display language selected by the users having the candidate IDs is set as a first display language. When a display language of an authentication screen, which is being displayed, does not coincide with the first display language, an authentication screen in the first display language is displayed in place of the authentication screen, which is being displayed.

  • Patent number: 9400622
Abstract: In one embodiment, path data is received. The path data is indicative of a plurality of connectivity paths to electronically connect a computer and a printer. A graphic user interface is provided for display to a user, the interface to enable sending of print jobs to a print queue. The queue is to hold the print jobs to be sent to the printer, and is without limitation to a specific path among the plurality of paths. A command for the computer to send a first print job to the printer is received via the interface. The plurality of paths is monitored to identify an available path among the plurality of paths. • Patent number: 9398173
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of processing image signals from a first and a second image sensor, both of a document scanner unit, where the first image sensor provides a first image, and the second image sensor provides a second image. The first and the second image are two-dimensional images wherein said first and second image are recorded at respective areas of a scanned medium, where a portion of the respective areas is recorded also by the other of the respective image sensors. Thereby image data from overlapping and non-overlapping areas are present in the first and the second image. The method comprises: correlating the first image with the second image, creating a correlation image and processing the correlation image to determine a displacement between the first and the second image. Consequently, a versatile calibration method is provided that can determine a displacement between the first and the second image in two dimensions.

  • Patent number: 9384749
Abstract: By copying to a high-frequency band portion (extension band) a low-frequency band portion in which peaking has been set to a sufficiently low state, this encoding device is capable of preventing generation of a spectrum with overly high peaking in the high-frequency band portion, and of generating a high-quality extension band spectrum. This device comprises: a maximum value search unit which searches, in each of multiple sub-bands obtained by dividing the low-frequency band portion of an audio signal and/or music signal below a prescribed frequency, for the maximum value of the amplitude of a first spectrum obtained by decoding first encoded data, which is encoded data in the low-frequency band portion; and an amplitude normalization unit which obtains a normalized spectrum by normalizing, at the maximum values of the amplitude of each sub-band, the first spectrum contained in each sub-band.

  • Patent number: 9378755
Abstract: Method of detecting voice activity starts with by generating probabilistic models that respectively model features of speech dynamically over time. Probabilistic models may model each feature dependent on a past feature and a current state. Features of speech may include a nonstationary signal presence feature, a periodicity feature, and a sparsity feature. Noise suppressor may then perform noise suppression on an acoustic signal to generate a nonstationary signal presence signal and a noise suppressed acoustic signal. An LPC module may then perform residual analysis on the noise suppressed data signal to generate a periodicity signal and a sparsity signal. Inference generator receives the probabilistic models and receives, in real-time, nonstationary signal presence signal, periodicity signal, and sparsity signal. Inference generator may then generate in real time an estimate of voice activity based on the probabilistic models, nonstationary signal presence signal, periodicity signal, and sparsity signal.

  • Patent number: 9367276
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying conflicts between the requirements of an incoming print job and the configuration of a printer that has been requested to print the job. The system receives a request to move a print job to a queue for a printer and identifies a requirement of the print job. The system analyzes a current and a scheduled configuration of the printer to determine whether the current configuration or the scheduled configuration of the printer can handle the print setting. Responsive to determining that the current and scheduled configuration of the printer cannot handle the print setting, the system analyzes configurations of at least one other printer to identify another printer having a current configuration or a scheduled configuration that can handle the print setting. Further, the system provides information identifying the other printer.
